We Hereby Resolve ...

It's that time of year, so here are some resolutions:

• We resolve to continue to improve our online news/content efforts. This was an amazing year for us as far as TucsonWeekly.com goes—especially the stuff we managed to do on The Range, our daily dispatch, at daily.tucsonweekly.com. In 2009, we posted about 800 stories on The Range; in 2010, that number rose to about 2,150. That's an average of six online pieces per day, every day (Sundays included). Jim Nintzel, Adam Borowitz, Mari Herreras, Nick Smith and Dan Gibson all deserve major credit for making TucsonWeekly.com into a place where Tucsonans go (or should go) on a daily basis for news, commentary and all sorts of fun.

As for what 2011 will bring ... well, we're continuing to add contributors and new features to The Range, in an effort to make TucsonWeekly.com the best all-around news/information website in Southern Arizona.

• We won't sacrifice the quality of our dead-tree version as we improve our online efforts. Many media "experts" claim that print has no future. These "experts" are idiots. There is and will continue to be a demand for a printed version of the Tucson Weekly; we'll be around in both paper and pixel forms for a long time. That's why we've refused to hack the living daylights out of the print version. (Have you seen the pamphlet that's passing for the Monday Arizona Daily Star lately? Yikes.)
