The word "botana" has a double-meaning: It can either mean an appetizer or a joke. But La Botana isn't joking with their delicious, inexpensive tacos and Southern Mexico style dishes. But there's one thing that they do really, really well: chicharrones. This crispy fried pork rind is seasoned well and served with a salsa verde that packs a punch. Although you can order any of the choose-your-meat dishes with chicharrones, the tacos are the best option. Meaty, crispy, crunchy, a little greasy and a little spicy, two or three of these tacos are the perfect accompaniment to a nice, cold Mexican beer.
