Zin, Blues and BBQ

Hacienda del Sol Guest Ranch Resort hosts its eighth outdoor barbecue buffet--including zinfandel sampling and live blues music by the Grams and Krieger Band and the Stefan George Duo--at 4 p.m., Sunday, April 27. Tip-a-Cop Night

Teaming up with representatives from local law-enforcement agencies and the Arizona Highway Patrol, Claim Jumper will host Tip-a-Cop Night to benefit the Special Olympics from 5 to 9 p.m., Thursday, April 24. Uniformed officers and deputies will work alongside Claim Jumper's wait staff to earn tips by tackling tasks such as greeting guests, serving drinks, taking orders and cleaning tables. The restaurant chain's annual event helped law-enforcement teams raise more than $150,000 last year. Locally, you can participate this year at 3761 E. Broadway Blvd.; 795-2900.

Pie Party

The sixth annual pie party benefiting Earth First! Journal happens Sunday, April 27, from 6 to 9 p.m., at the Dunbar School Auditorium, 325 W. Flower Power

Proceeds from this first-time gala event at 6 p.m., Saturday, May 3, will go toward the completion of an infusion treatment center at the Peter and Paula Fasseas Cancer Clinic at UMC North, 3838 N. Campbell Ave. Taste flower-themed cuisine offered by Tucson Originals restaurants. A live auction features flower-themed artwork from local artists.
