Beginning some four decades ago with a handful of Fourth Avenue merchants setting up tables outside their front doors during the holiday-shopping season, the Fourth Avenue Street Fair has since exploded into one of the foremost street fairs in the country. With more than 400 arts and craft booths, food, drink and live music, the biannual event draws hundreds of thousands of people each April and December. In all honesty, you'd really have to be living in the dark to not already know all about it.
