What was the first concert you ever saw?

Kiss on the Lick It Up tour at the Civic Auditorium in Omaha, Neb. It was the first time I ever smoked concert pot.

What CDs are in your changer right now?

I got a lot of stuff! Lately, I've been listening to a lot of old jazz vinyl from Chad (Sexton, drummer) ... Tony Williams from the '70s and early '80s. I grew up listening to a lot of Van Halen, and I'm on an old Van Halen kick. The Funky Meters, Bob Marley--there's always some form of reggae. Led Zeppelin, Physical Graffiti; NOFX, Frank Zappa. My girlfriend's father is a salsa singer--I got to give a shout out to him--and it's really kind of influenced me. Pantera, Vulgar Display of Power.

How many total albums do you own (CDs, vinyl, cassettes, 8-tracks)?

Let me tell you this (looking through my iTunes library): I put all of my CDs onto a new hard drive. I don't know how many albums, but I have more than a month's worth of music without it repeating.

Do you download music, and if so, legally or illegally?

Yes, I buy things on iTunes, but I like the physical aspect of albums and its artwork.

What was the first album you owned?

I remember buying Van Halen, Diver Down, on cassette with my mom.

What song would you like to have played at your funeral?

"In the Light" by Led Zeppelin, and maybe some bagpipes.

Musically speaking, what do you love that your friends don't know about? What's your favorite guilty pleasure?

A lot of times, it's Willie Nelson; like I mentioned earlier, it's the salsa music.

What band or artist changed your life, and how?

It's weird, but Bad Brains is one of my all-time-favorite bands. When I was in junior high, I was really into punk rock, and they were the first band that introduced me to reggae, which is my favorite form of music.

Figurative gun to your head, what is your favorite album of all time?

That's hard ... Led Zeppelin, Physical Graffiti.
