A woman's mouth landed her in jail for an alleged infraction that normally would have resulted in her being cited and released, a University of Arizona Police Department report stated.
Kelly McCormick, 19, reportedly wouldn't leave a private fraternity party at the Sigma Phi house, 1525 E. Drachman St., when asked.
An officer made contact with McCormick in the parking lot, who allegedly said police couldn't make her leave. The officer noted that she smelled of alcohol.
Authorities arrested McCormick on an underage drinking change. The report said she became "argumentative and verbally combative," telling officers, "You're all pricks and assholes."
McCormick reportedly attempted to walk away from authorities as they were filling out her citation, prompting them to put her handcuffs. An officer then asked her to sign the citation.
"Fuck you, I'm not signing anything!" McCormick reportedly yelled in reply. The officer told her if she didn't sign, she would have to go to jail.
"Fuck you! You're all a bunch of assholes!" she reportedly yelled. The officer asked one more time if she would sign and have someone pick her up, but reportedly got the same "fuck you" treatment.
Officers transported McCormick to Pima County Jail, where she was booked. The fraternity members declined to press trespassing charges.
THE AMBUSH
UNINCORPORATED PIMA COUNTY, AUG. 26, 6:52 P.M.
A teenager said he was assaulted by a group of men while driving his car, a Pima County Sheriff's Department report said.
A deputy responding to the call noted that the vehicle, which belonged to the 17-year-old's father, looked as if it had been hit by rocks. A window had been broken out, and it was riddled with dents and marks.
The teen said three men in the road started throwing rocks at his car. He said he stopped the car, got out and yelled, "What the fuck?"
The teenager said one of the men ran up to him and started punching him in the head, causing his sunglasses to fall to the ground.
Eventually, the teen said, he was able to get away. He told authorities he got back in the car, drove up the street and then turned around to ask if he could have his sunglasses back.
In response, one of the suspects reportedly put the glasses on the road and stepped on them.
A woman at a nearby house said her boyfriend had been involved in an altercation with the driver of the car, adding that the car regularly drives through the area at a high rate of speed. The deputy left his card with the woman so her boyfriend could contact him.
