The only memory a woman had of birthday bar-hopping was that her friend repeatedly slammed her head into the road, a Pima County Sheriff's Department report said.
The woman told authorities that she had "an enormous amount to drink" at Maloney's Tavern, 213 N. Fourth Ave., while celebrating her 21st birthday. She said that all she could remember about the evening was being on a road near her house and having her head smacked into the pavement.
A deputy noted numerous bruises on the woman's knees, forearms and lower back, which were reportedly already scarred from other unspecified injuries.
The woman said she didn't want to press charges, because she wasn't sure what she did to merit the assault.
Adventures in Baby-Sitting
Irvington and Mission Roads, June 27, 5:30 p.m.
A teenage boy allegedly burned his baby sitter's neck with a lighter and threatened her with a fork, a PCSD report stated.
A deputy photographed the live-in baby sitter's injuries, which included a burn mark on the front of her neck and leg bruises which she claimed were caused by the 13-year-old boy.
According to the report, the boy "freely" admitted he had burned his baby sitter, but denied threatening her with a fork. He claimed he injured her in order to defend his 3-year-old brother, whom the baby sitter had allowed to smoke a fake rolled cigarette. The baby sitter denied knowing anything about the cigarette.
The boy's mother said she returned home and heard from the baby sitter that her son was being abusive. When the mother confronted him, she said, he accused the baby sitter of lying and moved toward the baby sitter with a fork in his hand.
After considering the evidence, deputies arrested the boy on three domestic-violence charges. They transported him to Pima County Juvenile Detention Center.
Rude Awakening
River Road and La Cholla Boulevard, June 29, 8:29 p.m.
A woman called authorities after finding her neighbor conked out in a recliner in his trailer, a PCSD report said.
The woman said Michael Thomas Beck, 29, wasn't responding to anything--even after she came inside and shook him, poked him and slapped in the face. It appeared that Beck had been eating Hamburger Helper or macaroni and cheese, which was all over the front of him, she said.
A deputy entered the house and, after knocking a knife out of Beck's hand, woke him up. Authorities reportedly found several pipes used for smoking marijuana, which Beck admitted were his.
A deputy cited and released Beck for possession of drug paraphernalia.
