Welcome Home

Ina Road and La Cholla Boulevard, May 26, 6:34 p.m.

According to a Pima County Sheriff's Department report, a son thought his mother would be pleased that he and some friends had vandalized her home while she was in Nevada visiting her dying father.

A deputy noted all of the walls in the living room had been spray-painted. The ceiling had also been painted with the words "Welcome Home." Someone scribbled "fuck, whore and bitch" in glow-in-the-dark paint on the kitchen countertop.

The woman said she had left her 17-year-old son in charge while she went to Nevada. When she returned home to get clothes and make arrangements for her father's funeral, she reportedly saw all the graffiti.

The mother said she confronted her son, who allegedly told her, "I thought you would like that. I thought it was funny, that it was cool."

She said she told her son that he and his friends would have to pay for the damage and clean up all the paint. The boys had reportedly spilled paint on the carpet and her computer, damaging it.

Cut and Run

River and Craycroft Roads, May 27, 5:19 p.m.

A woman accused her neighbor of having trees near her driveway cut down, a PCSD report stated.

The woman said there had been a previous incident in which her neighbor's landscaper chopped down a Palo Verde tree. She said she approached the landscaper, who became "very aggressive." The woman said she didn't report this incident.

Then, within the past two weeks, several more trees were hastily cut, the woman said.

A deputy who responded to the woman's call noted that the trees obstructed the view from the neighbor's backyard deck and back windows. The deputy surmised that it was possible the neighbor wanted the trees cut to have a clear view of the surrounding area.

The woman said the cut trees made her fear for her life, as well as the safety of her 13-year-old daughter.

Mr. Bubble

River Road and La Cholla Boulevard, May 28, 4:37 p.m.

A group of teenage boys made a foamy mess in a community hot tub, a PCSD report said.

A witness said five males jumped the fence surrounding the pool area, dumped shampoo or bubble bath in the hot tub and then drove off in two cars.

The witness provided authorities with descriptions of the boys and their vehicles. Neither she nor other people in the pool area at the time knew who the boys were.
