Authorities arrested a man who was jogging down the street nude, a University of Arizona Police Department report stated.
An officer spotted a "tall, white" man, later identified as a 26-year-old, jogging past 15-20 people near Seventh Street and Highland Avenue. When the suspect noticed the officer, he allegedly ran into the Student Recreation Center, 1400 E. Sixth St., and past 20-30 more people.
The officer wrote that the naked man climbed over a railing and jumped into the center's pool before he was detained.
The man allegedly said he was running because he was thinking about his girlfriend "Ting Ting." He claimed he was naked "because he was in the United States, and it was a free country," the report said.
A witness was unable to positively identify the suspect as the man he saw, but was able to give a description of the suspect's pubic hair and penis size, which he said was 5-6 inches.
No one else wanted to press charges against the man, so police cited him for being a public nuisance. Due to his inconsistent speech and nudity, he was transported to University Medical Center for evaluation.
Catching Some Zs
Irvington Road and Alvernon Way, Aug. 16, 4:10 a.m.
Deputies arrested a man who was sleeping on the floor of a Denny's restaurant and refused to get up, a Pima County Sheriff's Department report said.
Reginald Hunter, 36, allegedly became irate when employees asked him to leave because he was dozing off. The report said he got under his table and refused to get up.
Deputies decided to arrest Hunter for disorderly conduct after several attempts to rouse him, but they were unable to cuff him. The report said Hunter, who refused to put his arms behind his back, was a "very large man" with a "muscular" build.
A deputy used a Taser on Hunter to get him to comply. He was transported to the Pima County Adult Detention Center.
Evening Walk
State Route 86 and Sierrita Mountain Road, Aug. 21, 7:56 p.m.
Two people out for a walk said a woman who appeared drunk accosted them before urinating in a wash, a PCSD report stated.
The walkers first encountered the woman while she was talking to two men in a car. The men drove off, and the woman insisted to the walkers that she had been beaten up by them, they said.
According to the report, the woman started following the walkers, calling them "bitches" and other profane names. The walkers then alleged that the woman squatted in a nearby wash and urinated.
They said they returned home and phoned deputies. No charges were filed at the time of the report.
