What was the first concert you ever saw?
First ... biggest ... loudest ... feh ... it all became meaningless once Mondo Guano appeared on the scene and completely realigned everything we ever thought about music and concerts.
What CDs are in your changer right now?
No changer. I was listening to A New Commotion, A Delicate Tension ... by Viva L'American Death Ray Music this morning as I went to my office.
How many total albums do you own (CDs, vinyl, cassettes, 8-tracks)?
I had to move recently and took note of the size of my record collection: too heavy.
Do you download music, and if so, legally or illegally?
Yes.
What was the first album you owned?
I remember someone giving me a copy of The Cars when I was around 13.
What song would you like played at your funeral?
I want a young teenager to sing "What Goes On" by VU at my funeral. Someone needs to teach her to play very rudimentary guitar so she can struggle through the rhythm bits and that amazing lead part, but otherwise, no musicians, just her singing and playing electric guitar.
Musically speaking, what do you love that your friends don't know about? What's your favorite guilty pleasure?
I've received more than my share of grief for my musical tastes; I'm not airing any more of that kind of laundry here.
What band or artist changed your life, and how?
The Tucson music scene was great while I was in school here: there were lots of people in bands and lots of parties to play; and Dodajk/DPC was holding amazing shows on a regular basis. In particular, the vast sphere of bands revolving around the Bloat Family, Heemsbergen/Fells Family, and Petix Universe was what made music important for me.
