A man at a bar told deputies he pulled his ex-girlfriend's hair because she was getting "raped" on the dance floor, a Pima County Sheriff's Department report said.
Michael Knopf's ex-girlfriend said that Knopf came up behind her as she danced with another man at River's Edge Lounge, 4635 N. Flowing Wells Road. She added that he yanked her so forcefully that she was nearly knocked off her feet.
A deputy, who originally spoke to 36-year-old Knopf, said that he claimed he was 6 feet 10 inches tall, that he was a future basketball all-star and that his father was going to help him if he got in trouble. Knopf said he was being sarcastic when the deputy questioned him about his assertions.
According to the report, Knopf eventually admitted that he had pulled his ex-girlfriend's hair, because she was dancing with someone else.
Because Knopf had a prior relationship with the woman, authorities arrested him on a domestic violence charge. Deputies transported him to the Pima County Adult Detention Center.

UA Area, March 9, 9:34 a.m.
A library employee noticed a man masturbating between bookshelves, a University of Arizona Police Department report said.
An employee said she saw the man with his pants down on the fourth floor of the Main Library, 1510 E. University Blvd. While she didn't actually see his genitals, the woman said she could tell what he was doing by the motion of his arm.
The two made eye contact, the employee said, prompting the woman to run to a supervisor to report the incident.
Police believe the man used an emergency door to escape, setting off a fire alarm.
Road Rage
East Ina and North Oracle Roads, March 1, 6:01 p.m.
Witnesses said a man purposely backed his truck into a woman's car, after she honked at him for cutting her off in a parking lot, a PCSD report said.
The two drivers exchanged harsh words after the fender bender. At least one witness said she feared for the female driver's safety.
The truck driver ignored the woman's request for his insurance and drove his truck to another part of the lot, another witness said.
Deputies spoke to the driver of the truck, who said the crash was an accident.
A deputy cited the man for criminal damage and making threats.
