Taco Bron
Brand new and bright orange, Taco Bron features tacos and burros made from certified Angus beef, vegetarian refried beans and cilantro rice. Open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., the brightly colored restaurant offers table service and a full bar. Locals Tom and Denise Palomares own an existing Taco Bron at 3200 N. Le Bistro
Chef Laurent Reux offers a special, four-course summer tasting menu that changes nightly through September. The cost is $27.95 without wine or $34.95 with two glasses of paired wines. Le Bistro is located at 2574 N. Campbell Ave., but will be closed from Aug. 15 to Sept. 9. Call 327-3086 for reservations.
Primavera Cooks Pastiche
The Primavera Foundation continues its summer fund-raiser with an Aug. 18 event at Pastiche Modern Eatery, 3025 N. Campbell Ave. The menu promises a fabulous five-course dinner paired with the Gallo family of wines; the cost is $100 per person, including tax and tip. RSVP to 325-3333.
In-n-Out in Marana
It's official: In-n-Out Burger is coming to Marana in September 2005, and to another area location yet to be revealed. According to an anonymous source, 20 locations are being considered throughout midtown and the eastside. As far as the El Con Mall rumor, no lease has been signed.
Afogato
Sounds like a word to be used with obscene hand gestures, but it's not. Afogato refers to food cooked in liquid, but at Raging Sage, it's two scoops of vanilla or chocolate ice cream served with a shot of espresso poured over the top. Delizioso!
