Living in SIN

Calling all restaurant workers to Service Industry Night. RA Sushi invites you to let it all hang out on your Sunday night off at the Flying Fish Lounge, where Tootsie Roll sushi (shrimp/crab mix and cucumber rolled in seaweed, drizzled with sweet eel sauce and topped with crunchy tempura bits) is only $3.50 from 8-10 p.m.; drink specials are available until midnight. RA will run promotional giveaways, including concert tickets and T-shirts, throughout the night. Summer Passport

One good thing about triple-digit weather is that fine dining becomes more affordable.

Beginning May 17, all diners at Janos and J BAR will receive a "passport," and every time you order a main course at either restaurant, you can get your passport stamped. Accumulate four stamps to earn a summer sampler at J BAR or an appetizer at Janos; accumulate six stamps to earn a summer sampler at Janos. Summer samplers at J Bar include a choice of three entrées plus a salad for $12.95; at Janos, $19.95.

In-n-Out: In?

My neighbor's barber, located in the El Con Mall, said he saw a sign that In-n-Out was coming to El Con. After a cursory drive-around, I found no such sign, though I did notice that Claim Jumper has broken ground. A call to In-n-Out corporate headquarters confirmed that yes, In-n-Out is coming to Tucson in 2005, but the location is still a secret. The In-n-Out rep added that the construction company, not the burger company, is posting signs. (Another sign was recently sighted from Interstate 10 in Marana.)
