According to a Pima County Sheriff's Department report, a Green Valley charter-school student allegedly used a taser device to shock five fellow classmates, then lied about his actions to police.
Itzcalli Academy officials become suspicious when a student came into the nurse's office complaining of not feeling well after being shocked by a taser.
Deputies spoke with several other students who admitted to having been shocked by the taser. Deputies noticed that all the students believed to be involved had two small, minor burn marks on their arms, legs or torso.
One student told police that she took the stun gun away from a male student who had been using it against other students. Deputies confiscated the device and showed it to the male student whom they believed had been zapping his classmates.
The student at first denied any involvement, but after deputies showed him the confiscated gun, he allegedly admitted to zapping his classmates.
All the students said they were not seriously hurt by the minor burns and felt no pain.
Is there a Cactus Heaven?
North Campo Abierto and East Sunrise Drive, March 9, 11:30 a.m.
Deputies believe somebody may have purposefully used a tractor to destroy a mature saguaro cactus, a PCSD report stated.
A construction worker told police that he and some other workers were framing a house when he saw a man driving a tractor nearby. The tractor driver allegedly knocked down the cactus and pushed the plant into a pile of brush and debris.
The saguaro was about 25 feet tall and had four or five arms.
Gas Station Disruption
University Area, March 12, 11:24 p.m.
According to a University of Arizona Police report, officers arrested a Tucson man after he was allegedly seen panhandling and yelling expletives at a gas station.
A Circle K employee told police that he saw David A. Neal, 42, panhandling and bothering customers near the gas pumps, 977 E. Speedway Blvd.
When asked to leave the area, Neal yelled, "Fuck you!" at the employee, the employee told police.
According to Circle K employees, Neal has caused problems at the gas station in the past. Police told Neal to leave the area.
About 16 minutes later, officers received a call that there was an unwanted customer at the Jack in the Box at North Park Avenue and East Speedway Boulevard, directly across the street from the Circle K.
When police arrived, they saw Neal on the property. Neal was arrested and taken to Pima County Jail on suspicion of third-degree trespassing.
