Beef is back
According to the USDA, beef consumption is on the rise--not that it's ever roamed very far off the charts in Tucson. Sales are based on the wild popularity of the Atkins Diet and its attempt to topple the traditional food pyramid. Also, in times of uncertainty, people crave comfort foods. Eggs, cheese, wine and other alcoholic beverages, pork and chocolate are all loudly ka-chinging at the cash register.
Smokin'
The sign blazes on the northwest corner of Speedway Boulevard and Swan Road, but the joint is nowhere near ready; in fact, it's a mired mess inside. Stay tuned.
