STAFF PICK: Archer pool is a cool blue oasis out in the desert surrounded by palo verde, creosote and saguaros. The view from the deck is amazing. Desert sounds drift up: cicadas, the rattle of cactus wrens, the whiplash whistle of curve-billed thrashers. The pool lanes are uncrowded for lap swimmers, the staff is unfailingly friendly and there is a new slide that's a little on the short side but perfect for beginners.
