Best "Pet" Production

Sylvia, Invisible Theatre

STAFF PICK: Local favorite Suzi List went beyond heartwarming in her transformation into a lovable mutt in Invisible Theatre's season opener, Sylvia. She romped, she rutted, she rolled on the furniture. She kicked butt and even sniffed butt (implied off-stage, fortunately). List's intensely physical comedy was hilarious in her role as the adopted stray of a man in mid-life crisis, who makes Sylvia the center of his world. By playing the dog as near-human, complete with matching outfits for her and her master, the show had audiences rolling in the aisles -- and List exhausted from the five-day workout each week of the production run. After such dogged determination, we just had to throw her a bone. Good girl, Suzi!
