Re: “Gauging the Ganja

Focus I can't agree more.
The question here is what is the product a flower, or a processed plant with additives refined oil ? Do you think as a consumer that since it is manufactured. That every bit of the finished product can be measured and tested as to strength and purity? Then that information is clearly printed 40%>60% so on.

I find it interesting that so many think the vap cartridge flavor is because of strain. It is the flavor added the unflavored might have trace but not discernible or be effective terpenes are added to the refined oil.

Re: “AP: McSally Urges Colleagues To Vote for This 'Fucking Thing,' aka Zombie Trumpcare

WASHINGTON, DCThe House of Representatives today unanimously passed U.S. Representative Martha McSallys legislation to prevent Members of Congress and their staff from being exempt from the State waiver provisions of the American Health Care Act (AHCA) as amended.

Any law we pass that applies to our constituents must apply equally to Members of Congress as well. Anything short of that is hypocrisy. Congress must abide by the laws it passes and should be treated no differently than other hardworking Americans, said Rep. McSally. My measure eliminates double standards by preventing Members of Congress from exempting themselves from American Health Care Act.

Due to Senate procedural rules within the Budget Reconciliation process, the MacArthur Amendment to the American Health Care Act would exempt Members of Congress and their staff. Rep. McSallys legislation, H.R. 2192, is a standalone two-page bill that would repeal this exemption for Members of Congress should the American Health Care Act become law. The measure passed the House by a vote of 429-0.

FYI Abbie G, to highlight how you are being played by McSally. Your last sentence displays a profound ignorance of what her amendment actually meant, which is ironic concerning your criticism of other peoples understanding of her actions.

Re: “Life After Pat

Unfortunately, they have gone downhill since the ownership has changed. Several key staff members have left, and it is not the same. Pat created the best damn bar in Tucson. This is not it...And Greek food? Give me a break. Stay with the chipotle ribs and the menu that built one of the best in Tucson....This is not the Pastiche we enjoyed and supported.

I think the pressure of trying to run the failing Tucson Weekly is too much for Jimbo, this article is pretty unhinged.

Re: “Danehy

Unfreaking believable comments about the least important thing Danehy had to say... and yeah his point was made without the gratuitous reference to the orange haired buffoon as the sex offender in chief.

"I thought that there was a chance that she would stand up for her constituents, but when the House leaders decided that it was time to pass crap legislationany legislation, really--just so the heat would be shifted to the Senate, Martha McSally caved...."

McSally has the courage to fly a military fighter in harm' s way but lacks the fortitude to stand up to her colleagues and BLOTUS and vote for her constituents basic rights. She's a disgrace and will be a short-timer in the congress. She can look back to her vote in favor this piece of shit "legislation" while she's out job hunting in '18. Fooled me once...

Re: “Danehy

I didn't say there was no proof. I said Trump hadn't been convicted yet and that if he denies something, he's probably lying.

I gave you links to lawsuits and to numerous statements from women who don't know each other --including one of Trump's wives -- who all say the same thing about him. He assaults adult women and teenagers, sexually touches them without consent, and rapes violently. He is utterly untrustworthy and apparently has little sense of morality. He even has expressed sexual interest in his own daughter. I wouldn't choose to be alone with him, and I'd never let any woman or girl I cared about be put in a position where she's vulnerable to him.

As for the list of women you provided -- from the little I know, I believe them too. We should be able to hold more than one thought at a time. It is very possible that both Donald Trump and Bill Clinton do not respect women or marriage vows. But deflecting criticism about Trump by saying "other people do it too" is not helpful. If we want to have any credibility beyond partisan bs, we have to acknowledge when "their" side does it -- and when "our" side does it too.

(btw, I'm not a Democrat or a Republican, so neither of these sides is "my" side.)

Re: “Danehy

I have no children by choice ( I'll bet a lot of you are relieved to hear that !!) but yes I would. Thank you for taking the time to point out where you feel I'm in error. And without being a sarcastic idiot. You said there's no proof yet. but you believe those women. Fine, I believe these women.

I guess it works both ways. Does it mean Trump is innocent? Wasn't there. Don't know. Thanks again for disagreeing with me without all the insults.

Re: “Danehy

CW13 -- If you really want to know "how is Trump a sex offender?" you can read some of these articles. Do I need to supply you with the definitions of "sexual assault," "rape," and "nonconsensual groping"?…………

You will probably argue that he hasn't been convicted (yet), and you will probably quote his denials. But since Trump lies almost every time he opens his mouth, and since there is no proof that any of these women lie, I believe the women. Would you trust him with your daughter?

Re: “Got a Bachelor's Degree? There May Be a Public School Teaching Job Waiting For You.

You fail to distinguish between two distinct points of view:
1) Safier-style political-machine-feeding "all our problems will be solved if we just increase funding to public district schools and cut off funding to and support of alternative schools"
2) the repeatedly expressed opinion that funding should only be increased -- and charters and vouchers permitted -- with improved oversight mechanisms that ensure increased funding and increased choice will be managed in ways that benefit students and protect constituents from abuse

The results of parent satisfaction surveys, as has been pointed out before, are interesting, but most parents are not professional educators and their satisfaction with a school in no way guarantees that quality education is necessarily being delivered there.

What we have in Arizona education is not a lamentation orchestra -- what we have is a peculiarly toxic version of the Wild West on both sides of the political aisle. It is a bipartisan culture of self-serving irresponsibility that, on the one side, lazily and irrationally assumes the "invisible hand" will effectively accomplish what only careful, tedious, systematic quality-control oversight can actually accomplish, and, on the other side, sloppily begs more funding while resisting and disparaging any concern with how that funding is actually applied. Neither approach works to provide high quality publicly funded education.

The situation was correctly diagnosed above. The one effective remedy left to those who want to raise and educate children responsibly: leave the state of Arizona.

At least there were only four of them when I saw them. The audience was the fifth. Some sites list 5 band members, but that is not my remembrance.

Re: “Vanishing Waters

US drought levels fall to lowest point in years

Just 5 percent of the United States is experiencing drought conditions, the lowest level of drought here since government scientific agencies began updating the U.S. Drought Monitor on a weekly basis in 2000.

Record rain and snowfall over the winter on the West Coast and heavy spring rains in the Midwest have alleviated some of the worst and longest-lasting drought conditions ever recorded.
