Re: “Little Anthony's Diner

I've always had a great time at Little Anthony's. It's a very fun atmosphere; themed like a 50's diner usually staffed by a DJ. The food is good but not great; its basic homestyle stuff. The portions are large though. They have car shows right out front on some weekends and send my kids a birthday card for a free sundae.

Re: “Man Arrested for Damaging, Stealing Water Tanks Left For Migrants

Wake up! Those barrels were not on private property! The property they say is private was a derelict property that was abandoned! The house and trailer is gutted out and stripped! All the fence posts surrounding the property are gone and the "fence" is on the ground, mostly cut up!! There are no signs that say keep out or signs saying private property!!! He was arrested next to the fence of the elementary school in Three Points where the drug mules use it as a pickup and drop point for drugs!! All along and outside the fence to the school there are camo clothes and carpet shoes and backpacks that were dropped by the drug mules right next to the elementary school!! That's where they arrested him while he was cleaning up all the debris left by the drug mules and the caryel!! He was doing you a service and helping this community!! And now you freaking trash his name!! He isnt looney and he is no threat!! The only ones he threatens is the cartel and the people who help them like Humane Borders!! They place those blue water barrels all along the drug and human trafficking routes 80 miles through our desert!! Our desert is a barrier that Humane Borders negates by placing water for the traffickers to get through the desert. They wouldnt be able to travel through that desert without water. So Humane Borders supplies it with our funded tax dollars!! That's why they came after Lewis and VOP!! Because by hitting the barrels we stopped thier entire ooeration!! Dont you get it!? VOP was hurting thier money!! They dont like not getting paid!! And there are a lot of corrupt officials that dont want the trafficking to stop!! Lewis a a patriot and was doing this community a great service!! And you put out a story to trash his name!! Its all fake news!! And Lewis is only still in jail because of a stupid probation hold!! Get your facts straight! I was there in that desert and saw that rape trees with panties from the rape victims hung in the trees like trophies!! I was there and saw the pink little girls backpacks and shoes next to condoms on the ground!! You people know nothing!! I personally saw the canyons filled with three feet deep of camo clothes and carpet shoes and backpacks that ran for over a hundred yards multiple times!! We tracked them from Sasabe and Aravaca and Ruby all along the desert to Thee Point and then tracked them north all the way to Lewis's property to the one lane bridge a mile from Lewis's house. They use the bridge as a pickup location!! Black Sinaloa Cartel water jugs all along the way!! They use the black jugs for water between the blue barrel sites. So they fill up thier black jugs and walk to the next blue barrel water station, and then the next until they get all the way to Pheonix!! They cant carry enough water to get them 100 miles to Pheonix so they use Humane Borders Water stations to get them through the desert! Wake up!! Our tax dollars are paying for drugs and women and children to be trafficked through our desert!! Its disgusting!! The only one who should be locked up is Joel Smith!! Head of Humane Borders!! For helping to traffick in drugs and women and children who get raped all along the way!!

Re: “The Skinny

Wow -- 48 "dislikes" on my comment. Kind of highlights the difference between a free press and a kept press. While distracted by the bullying of Supervisor Miller by the Weakly's editor, no one is informed that the Pima County Board of Supervisors on December 3 -- a week ago -- approved the County Administrator's plan for state legislation -- a plan that certainly impacts Weakly readers.

The BOS, with Miller and Christie voting No, wants state legislation to increase our taxes (a 15 cent gas tax increase), penalize "green" drivers (an equivalent "road tax" for electric vehicle drivers), a sales tax increase to fund pensions for elected officials and public safety participants while at the same time reducing public safety retirement benefits by eliminating overtime from benefit calculations; reduce transparency by eliminating newspaper and mail notices required for government operations like bidding on contracts or selling surplus land; reducing services by eliminating county contributions to state juvenile corrections and long-term care programs.

Not to mention that Pima Coiunty's lobbyist, Michael Racy, is being paid $280,000 taxpayer dollars a year to get the plan implemented in Phoenix.

I read about it in the Arizona Daily Independent, another target of the editor's bullying. Not a word in the Weakly or any of the other Tucson Local Media papers managed by Chuck Huckelberry, I mean Jim Nintzel. You can read the resolution for yourselves at:…

And for the record: I vote Independent and am currently registered Democrat to vote for Elizabeth Warren in the primary. I've met Supervisor Miller twice, in brief conversations during BOS breaks. I write occasionally for the Independent because I value a free press. They've never censored me or refused an article, as was the case during the dozen years I wrote for Desert Times, and sometimes for the Weekly, prior to TLM's takeover. A recent Guest Commentary for the Weakly was refused by the editor. That's the difference between a free press and a kept press.

Re: “Down Thru the Chimney, But Where's Saint Nick

"Near Waverly Street & Grant Road" covers neighborhoods from Sixth Avenue east to Wilmot. Instead of parallel streets a sensible reporter should name intersecting streets.
