Re: “Gabby Giffords on Las Vegas Mass Shooting: "This Must Stop"

Please learn to distinguish between anger and hate. Otherwise you sound like a child.

Re: “Mid-Century Madness

It looks like there's a couple that is restoring one of Tom Gist's mid-century houses here in Tucson and is blogging about it...I wonder if they will be featured on the home tour.

Re: “Foggy Forecast

Whats happening is all people getting a MMJ license automatically purges you off jury rolls. Both Local and Federal courts

Nationally legalizing by strict license and controls only keeps a direct funding source for all of the industries that sprang up during the "WAR ON DRUGS". Most are bogus and a burden on the society and families stigmatize users and maintains a drug class of people.

Marijuana is not a political issue, that so many try here to hang the banner on. which is as much Bull as the war on drugs.

Would love to know what percentage of McSally's money comes from CD2.

I'm looking forward to finding out what percentage of that money came from donors who actually live in CD2.

You call it public education, but what proof do you have? How do you approach that question philosophically unless you know the maximum human potential of your students? How do you know, maybe you are only at 5%?

Can you call 5% education?

Re: “It Looks Like Gabby Giffords Is Going To Endorse Ann Kirkpatrick Today in 2018 Race Against McSally

Explain how the 20 or 30 million that have affordable health care, and are now victims in Las Vegas hospitals and are on Go Fund Me looking for donations to pay their medical expenses. Health care was more affordable before they made it affordable. People with pre existing conditions are now free to come and go as situations change, and they leave the true rate payers to be punished because of losses.

The ACA Marketplace has had 10.3 million sign up.

Name calling displays a unique level of ignorance. And this is his plan to live in a world with people he disagrees with. Hatred is at the root of all of this. Like I said above there is plenty of hatred right here in the comments. And very few real solutions.

I repeat. Tell me what realistic law would have stopped the killings.

Re: “It Looks Like Gabby Giffords Is Going To Endorse Ann Kirkpatrick Today in 2018 Race Against McSally

The Resistance is the only thing that has saved us so far from the Republican Deathcare bills that would have defunded healthcare and thrown 22 to 32 MILLION AMERICANS off their existing health insurance, causing the death of thousands more people each year from lack of coverage. Trump is a malevolent, malignant narcissist and racist that needs constant supervision and opposition until Mr. Mueller reveals his treasonous conspiracy with Russia to steal his way into office. Viva la Resistance!

Re: “Gabby Giffords on Las Vegas Mass Shooting: "This Must Stop"

Let's cut the bullshit, shall we? I don't have any delusions about changing your mind. I think you're an idiot. I don't care what you think about me. Do you understand? My plan is to find a way to live in a world with morons like you who can't grasp that the NRA doesn't care about anything except getting their pockets lined from gun manufacturers. Outdoorsmen? Ha. Freedom fighters? Pathetic. But boy, if it keeps you from reaching for your piece, I sure hope you get lots of likes on your comments, tiger. They seem to matter more to you than human life.

We're being asked to add 1.5 cents to sales tax, part of it for preschoolers in designated areas. Where's the outrage?

Re: “The Best Way To Get Results-Based Funding Is To Be Well-Off and White

@ Sabasabas & David Safier:

They will no doubt claim they are applying the "teacher" component of the funding in professional development. And the professional development will no doubt relate to training the teachers to milk the student population for higher AP scores. It's University High School, after all. They have to compete with Basis and maintain their all-important US News & World Report rankings. (Gaming the media's inane rankings system and testing companies' standardized, multiple-choice "accountability" systems to make TUSD look better than it actually is -- NOT student benefit and NOT proper college preparatory education -- is UHS's reason for being. And now UHS/TUSD, after bulking the UHS curriculum up with more forced AP enrollment over the past few years, is preparing to kick a neighborhood cohort which includes a large number of recently arrived refugees out of its high school so they can shove UHS into that neighborhood's high school, increase UHS's enrollment capacity, and suck as many more hapless victims into this high stakes multiple-choice testing machine as possible. All to compensate for ongoing declines in enrollment brought about by the TUSD governing board's decades-long history of acute district-wide mismanagement. This is what could be gleaned from watching the October 3 TUSD Board meeting. What a great public school district, so worthy of our support and respect.)

Re: “The Skinny

I was struck by the comment that she performed better than expected during her first term. Were their expectations low because she was a woman? But better than whomever? Not currently impressed by her general performance over all in the interests of the non-military middle class community in her district. What exactly has she done to make our lives better?
