Re: “Out on Top

Big OX is one of the many inspirations to me and Tucson's Hip Hop community. It's been great to work with and become his friend out side of hip hop / rap stuff. His journey is far from over. Peace and blessings to you Marcus. Also Big ups to the Tucson Weekly for showing respect to a great artist, and father.

Re: “Ask a Mexican!

An EXCELLENT example of "Identity Politics" group think, dividing Americans and pitting then against each other on the basis of race or ethnicity.

Can YOU recognize the INHERENT RACISM of such ideology? I can!

Can you reconcile this ideology with Dr. King's admonition to judge each other "on the content of our character and not on the color of our skin?: I can't!

Re: “The Skinny

Good column. On the mark on all points. That radio guy Harris has never asked Miller a tough question; he gives her a free commercial every time she's on his moronic show.

Re: “The Skinny

The saddest part is that despite how its been demonstrated that this kind of intolerance hurts people, that alone wont drive people away from it. White nationalists will continue to think we are only a "white country" and we will be doomed to have another james fields or dylann roof commit a racist attack.

Re: “Danehy

"but all welfare cheats and meth heads are liberals."

If you grew up in a rural small poor conservative town with a drug problem such as i did, youd know you couldnt be more wrong.

Re: “Song of the Day: Billy Sedlmayr Weighs in on Old FM Staple 'Rock & Roll Hoochie Koo' and Johnny and Edgar Winter

My two musical regrets: Both Johnny and Dan Hicks played shows at the Rialto. Never saw either play live and wanted to but life intruded and missed both shows. Several months later they each (respectively) passed. Rats! (Still have my "Johnny Winter And" LP!)
