Yes, Mr Gandy, politics has become viral, a bacteria, a cancer on our culture. Yet there is a need for some type of governance. We must look out for the underdog. Regulations are necessary for clean air and water, and other basic needs like homeland security, and something as basic as garbage pick up. What ever happened to the notion of term limits? Why do we let the lobby's influence dominate? Why do corporations get what they want when a working stiff, works harder if he/she has a job, for less? And his/her taxes are about to increase, while their salaries or hourly wages will not increase.
....A new system has to be investigated. This country is becoming a resort for the 1%, white elite.
I am dreaming, I know, but it's time to clean the slate, and start over so that the other 99% can get theirs.

If you had the marinara & loved it, I respect your experience but here is mine that I lifted from my Yelp review: Well, only 8 reviews & all 5 stars, so what can I say? I guess I'm from an alternate universe. First of all the pizza we had totally sucked, but since we only had the bianca, maybe the 2 others are really good. It'a about a 12" pizza for $13 & most of it is crust, so that's a deal killer right off. Unfortunately it gets worse. Prosciutto is FIVE DOLLARS extra & I'm not kidding, you get maybe 1/10th of an ounce. The other ingredients are fresh mozzarella, ricotta, garlic, olive oil, basil, & chiltepin. Whatever the cheese was it was tasteless. We need to come up w/a word that denotes something below bland to describe it. Didn't really notice the garlic & the chiltepin was sparse as it was just barely noticeable. People we were with ordered the focaccia. For $6 we got what we already had too much of, which is pizza dough. That's it. Bread for $6. Oh, & it had that tasteless cheese sprinkled on it. 4 of us & we didn't even finish it. We also got some roasted squash & everyone agreed that was pretty darn good. Had the flourless almond cake for dessert. I thought it was good but I don't go out to eat for dessert. My wife ordered it & she thought it was totally ordinary. Anyway the squash & cake bumped it up from1 star to 2.

My brother Carlos F. Calderon is by far my favorite chef and I'm not just saying that because we are related. My brother is such an amazing cook it's ridiculous the pellets of food that he presents my taste buds would have never known the pleasures of those flavors without his talent. I am so proud of my brother congratulations to your new store here in Las Vegas Nevada love you so very much dude congratulations again on all your success in the past years.

Nothing on the Dropouts' menu looks the slightest bit inviting or interesting.
Living with an executive chef, I am always looking for something new or exciting food wise.
Not here........

Wow..what a mess of review, "some patrons growing impatient waiting for their table grumble because their car is in the hands of some kid expecting a tip." Really? When I wait a long time for a table that's what I wonder about??? Hardly. You then write about the Coop and "It is here that you find out that Culinary Dropout likens itself to a 'British gastropub' " with no further explanation? What do you think that means to the reader? Anything? Then only half a paragraph about the food. I really look forward to the food reviews each week, but this one left me "a bit dizzy, as if my head was stuck in a pinball machine".

"galinked" -- I AM one of the people behind the origins of The Independent Distillery, and I assure you that none of us have "taken our names away from the place" at our own accord. The people "now running the place" are the same people who started it WITH US, and it's a travesty how things have ended up. So, yes... I CAN tell you that the information that the General Manager, Ben Haynes, gave to the writer was untrue, as he intended to paint himself as someone far more important that he really was. He's the GM. Nothing more. And, I absolutely do NOT blame the writer. In fact, I would love nothing more than to vindicate him from the backlash he received from this portion of the article, for he wrote what he was told. The writer did his job and did nothing wrong. His coverage of the other distilleries was outstanding, and I couldn't be more proud of them for their success.

I have never in my life had a better dish of Beef Stew soup. I'm not sure exactly what it was but it was the best ever ever ever!!! I rarely eat meat but did.

Yikes!

I'm sure Sergio can handle it but, man, these breakfast burritos are sooooo good.

DAMN YOU MARK! LOL This has been my spot since it opened. Now it is going to be over-run with tourists. I hope the food doesn't suffer under the weight of the increased customer load. It has always done steady business but has been calm enough to relax at. It's a small space and will easily be overwhelmed. All selfishness aside, this is the best chorizo burrito in town and very affordable but I imagine the prices will go up along with the lines.... :-)
