Re: “Bosnian Delights

Sorry for misspelling the name! It's Chef Alisah's.

Here's a link to what looks like a luscious menu:

Re: “Bosnian Delights

I've been going there since it opened in 2008, and the dishes have never disappointed me. Below is the website with the menu. Check it out, go, and enjoy.

Re: “Bosnian Delights

The name is in the Heading and repeated in the 2nd paragraph. It's "Chef Asiah's."

Here's the address:

Michelangelo San Marcos Plaza, 5931 N Oracle Rd #117, Tucson, AZ 85704

Re: “Bosnian Delights

What is the name of this restaurant? If it's in there, it's easy to miss. Address? Is there any particular dish on the menu to describe? This is a good story about these members of the community and their journey. But I will have to search to find out how to try this place. Why make it so difficult?

Re: “Food and Survival

Hi Jorgiana. I'm not sure where you received the information that college students are not eligible, but that's not entirely true. College students DO qualify, but only if they meet certain requirements. Here is a link that can help you figure out whether or not you qualify.

Re: “Food and Survival

Curious as to food assistance for college students. I just found out college students are ineligible for SNAP. Other than market on the move, and going to food banks, is there help for working college students?

Spaerhawke,I totally Misread your comment, and thought you were speaking to me. It was pointed out to me that you were not speaking to me, but to the first person who commented on the article. I apologize, my bad. This is what happens when I don't drink coffee in the morning and I read comments. My apologies.

Re: “Food and Survival

Funny, I thought this was a story about one family's eating survival and the use of the SNAP program, not the misuse of the program. I think this story could be quite beneficial to families that are using the program and were unaware of the other outlets and retailers that are being mentioned in this story.
Why don't you take your witnessing of the abuse of the program and report it to the proper authorities that could actually do something about the abuse you describe, in quite minute detail, it appears that you have firsthand knowledge/witnessing that would be beneficial to those authorities.

Re: “Food and Survival

Abuse rates of SNAP have been studied and are below 5%. But go ahead and starve granny cause there are some coke heads out there getting a free ride. That's totally American...

Re: “Food and Survival

Being a fair and "complete story" journalist, I'm sure you will include in your series the many abuses and downright criminal uses of SNAP. Just a few are: selling the SNAP card for about 50 cents on the dollar giving the buyer the pin, as ID is rarely checked. Buying high cost and brand name items with SNAP (a lot of times the card holder will cover the front of the card with masking tape so as others in the grocery line won't see the card logo), and the worst abuse being an unscrupulous shop owner scanning a legal nutritious item such as donuts but substituting booze/cigarettes etc. These are just a few abuses, but I'm sure more will be covered in the fair and balanced continuation of this story. Ya

Re: “Happy Anni-BEER-sary

In light of the recent preponderance of alcohol-themed advertisements published under the guise of journalism, I propose that the "Chow" section be renamed "Swill."
