Re: “Small Town Big Business

I've had the misfortune to eat here a few times recently with relatives and I can safely say that the food at Old Chicago is truly terrible and likely comes frozen out of a Sysco truck. Preparation and presentation are lacking. The servers have been nice, though.

Re: “Life After Pat

Read the YELP comments; this place is not doing good; they will close within the next year; 2018 it will close it' doors.

Re: “Small Town Big Business

Hopefully Jim can fix the food section now that he is the editor. These advertisements are getting old and I hope you guys are at least getting paid for them. It wasn't that long ago that the Weekly would mock the Star for doing this exact same thing! Bring back actual reviews!

Sounds like an advertorial.

Re: “Small Town Big Business

Funny that they are owned by Rock Bottom Restaurants. It seems they take that name to heart each and every day. There are plenty of great craft brews elsewhere, and I cannot think of any pizza joint in Tucson with worse tasting pizza (and there is a lot of BAD pizza in Tucson). And for goodness sakes... clean the carpets, fix the tears in the booth and seat fabrics, and have the staff at least pretend that they care about what they are doing.

Re: “Life After Pat

Unfortunately, they have gone downhill since the ownership has changed. Several key staff members have left, and it is not the same. Pat created the best damn bar in Tucson. This is not it...And Greek food? Give me a break. Stay with the chipotle ribs and the menu that built one of the best in Tucson....This is not the Pastiche we enjoyed and supported.

Re: “Summer Samplers

I still cast a vote for Roma as best Italian/Greek deli in the world. You have got to try it. Wish they had an eastside location.

Re: “Summer Samplers

Roma has had the Ultimate Roma and Prosciutto Caprese on their menu for years, they are not new sandwiches.

Seriously, can we get a food reporter/reviewer who has lived in this town for more than five seconds?

Re: “Tucson Tamale's Secret Ingredient

Better late than never. Here's another grammatical error:

"Tucson Tamale has opened their third location at 7286 N Oracle Road..."

Since the subject - Tucson Tamale - is singular, then the sentence should read "Tucson Tamale has open ITS third location".

Carry on.
