Re: “Pie in the Sky

This guy may be good at pizza acrobats, but he is a terrible co-owner. He is the sole reason behind the high staff turnover. He belittles, yells, and insults cooks and servers a like. He will do this in private and in front of people. He goes after people's negative reviews on Google and other platforms by calling out their intelligence. It is an understatement to say he is not a nice person.

Re: “Curry Up and Visit

I wish they would re-open the restaurant on Sundays! That was my only chance to go there! Loved it!

Re: “Pie in the Sky

This is not a pizza joint, the pizza made here is as far away from the usual popular chain product, as cardboard and ketchup are from fresh ingredients. This place is a treasure because of the quality of their food. Give it a try, we need more restaurants of this caliber in town. If your tastebuds haven't been completely destroyed by consuming processed crap from multinational corporations, most of whose food is frozen before being defrosted and popped into a heated space where everything (like, sauce/cheese/topping ingredients) is mandated by algorithms based on profit not taste or quality, then treat yourself to a pie that is as good if not better than one's I've had in Florence, Naples, et al. They don't do Large pizza's for $7 plus delivery tip but offer a great product at a good price. Keep fighting the good fight Scott, hope you're able to open more locations across town.

Lastly, to the writer of this review, spending over 40% of the volume of the review on 'acrobatics, trophy's and who or what they mean, is a disservice to a new business owner trying to compete on quality not national televised campaigns who spend billions in advertising around the world. At the end of the day, if your review results in increased biz for this place, then OK, Yet if your choices are the only ones you thought of to inform us of what this place is like, and express it's uniqueness, do better next time.

And Mark is welcome in my space any time!

You clearly dont know him and you are making a fool of yourself here.

I do understand where you are coming from. But you picked the wrong target.

Re: “The Secret Is Out

Wow, talk about discrimination. If the shoe were on the other foot, meaning someone gay or lesbian that enjoyed frequenting a place dominated by a heterosexual crowd was presented with the same defense you give for keeping your space "untainted", that is considered discrimination. How is it not when you present your version of it Karen?

Re: “The Secret Is Out

YES it is. There are dozens of ways to show support for gays and lesbians. Write your Congressman. Write the President. Donate to causes. Come to a march. But please leave us our social spaces so we can socialize with ourselves.

Re: “The Secret Is Out

Anastasia, I would argue many hetero and bi people go to IBTs and other gay establishments to show support, both emotionally and financially. Is that so terrible?

Re: “The Secret Is Out

I'm fed up to the back teeth with straight folks invading our spaces because it's somehow cool and establishes the person's liberal cred. You've got hundreds of bars you can go to - in Tucson, we only have three where we can go be amongst our own kind. Go away.

Re: “Neighborhood Joint

Amazing food!! Service was friendly and efficient!!! Pizza was so tasty, fettuccine Alfredo was made with delicate, obvious homemade noodles and a sauce that was perfect!!! I can hardly wait to go back for more!!! Thank you!!

Re: “Food For Cause

You might want to do an update - they just closed all stores in AZ but still have a Falls Event Center in AZ. This is a massive criminal fraud.

Gary Nabhan's article makes me even prouder to be a Tucsonan. Special praise to Michael McDonald and his team at the Community Food Bank for keeping many in southern Arizona from hunger.

Re: “Killer Brews: Serial Grillers gets Crafty

I was excited about this place but the ambiance and crowd are kinda weak. It is definitely not on the same level as Hop Shop, T&B, or Casa Film Bar.. I am sure they will make changes over time to improve the atmosphere and hopefully the crowd but for now, my friends and I were very disappointed and won't be going back.

Re: “Killer Brews: Serial Grillers gets Crafty

This is a great place. I love how you can get almost any size of any style beer. Other places restrict you to a crucible of certain beers while still charging outrageously, which is total nonsense. But, it's the trendy thing to do as the other places try to convince you how sophisticated you are by not having a full pint. However, at Craft, you can usually get the 5/10/13/16oz of all their taps, at a reasonable price. It's a wonderful change!

Re: “Pie in the Sky: Catalina Craft Pizza aims high, whether it’s the food, the music or the community

Jeff Gardner has only written a few articles. Give him a break, he's new. Hope he sticks to it and finds his groove.

Re: “Pie in the Sky: Catalina Craft Pizza aims high, whether it’s the food, the music or the community

Dear TW editor,

Similar to movie, art, music etc, please publish food reviews which provide the basic details about a local restaurant. This article offers very little.

Who, what, where, when, why. Basic journalism.
