Re: “Danehy

Thanks, Tom, for a great column. I don't usually choke up from reading the Weekly, but this week, you got me. Even some tears...of joy. Having been around Amphi and meeting Coach Friedli (usually at the grocery store) he was ALWAYS a gentle man and one of the most positive educators I've erer met.

Should you ever pen a script for "the Vern Friedli Story", let us know. I'm in line for opening night tickets.

They dislike you, not the 10 times more fun your generation had.

Re: “Danehy

What's to dislike? You clowns are just pissed that my generation had 10 times more fun than yours ever did.

Like we used to say in the 60's, " if it feels good do it."

Re: “Danehy

Now, now girls, calm down and drink some nice Kool-Aid to cool off. (Although Grim Reaper, you probably don't need to drink the Kool-Aid).

Re: “Danehy

You are a just a bitter old man that has a fetish for being kissed in awkward places on your body. You should seek professional help.

If you really believe that you are the Grim reaper, you might seek professional help.

Re: “Danehy

I make a simple suggestion to keep myself from visiting you sooner and that's how you respond to it. You're worse off than I realized. I'm going to take a look at my roster to see if I possibly overlooked you. Sometimes when people live longer than they're scheduled to, they become unnecessarily obnoxious. By the way, I don't have lips, so I couldn't kiss it even if I wanted to.

If you're not into the Trump bashing columns, than don't read them.

Re: “Danehy

Well, I'll Tommy this much. He wrote a whole column and didn't bash Trump once. I'm sure he'll double up next week.

Re: “Danehy

Captain Kirk will surely be listening to William Shatner's recording of "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds."

Re: “Danehy

Who could possibly disagree that death is a bitch? Consequently, I will simply add:

I see Captain Kirk listening to the Rolling Stones' "2000 Light Years from Home" and/or Pink Floyd's "Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun."

Re: “Danehy

Death has been a common occurrence in my life, since age barely 6 years old, when my dad died. Two years later when my uncle died, I knew what that meant; that person wasn't coming back. During my 30+ career as an RN/ANP, I sat at the bedside, held the hand, grieved with the family of many patients of mine who died. Deployed for 2 years to LRMC when the battles were raging & the incoming averaged 750/month, and the outbound to the US averaged 680/month. I saw many, many who were never going to live the same physical life that they'd had, and even more who will always bear the mental scars of war. That was like a death. Recently, one of the people in my life who I've loved & has been my friend for over 30 years has died. He was one of those people who has been a touchstone in my life; always there somewhere, always able to reach out & say hey, if I needed a lift or a bit of ass-kicking counseling. Now he's gone. The void is there, something that can't be filled, but will eventually scar over to join other scars. Death is, indeed, a total bitch.
