Re: “The Chicago Way

Recently moved back, so I am technically no longer an "ex" (but I'm keeping my screen name). Tried Rosati's, can recommend. The breaded mushrooms are good.

Re: “Intoxicating Yardbird

Was there some copy/paste going on? Or did the power go out mid-article? How is "Ben Sattler remembers a specific moment in January..." the last sentence of the article?

Re: “Blame It On Gordon

'2 million actually suffer from celiac disease' represents less than 0.7% of the U.S. population. I appreciate the commentary, more critical thinking about supplements and diet choice real effects, versus the placebo effect, is quite refreshing. I wonder why good data (peer reviewed, double blind and independently funded, real research using real science) is not as prevalent as social media anecdotal evidence?

Re: “The Chicago Way

A well rounded review of Rosati's. The folks in Oro Valley are in for a treat.

Re: “The Chicago Way

Is El Semental ever going to open in Rosati's former location?

Re: “Blame It On Gordon

Nice writing!

Would appreciate more review of the food and less commentary on what you think of gluten-intolerance.

Re: “Sanctuary Awaits

Closed for vacation until Sept. 6. Seems like a funny time to print an article about a restaurant. "It's great, but they're closed all month...."

Re: “Pleasantly Punjab

I live nearby but review doesn't sound like the restaurant we went to at that location. The restaurant is not very clean and the food obviously preprepared from a food service or Lee Lee's. the food is bland and not well prepared with inferior ingredients. The staff often seems completely oblivious to the customers.

They have the most yelp reviews disputed I have ever seen for a restaurant. The reviews where customers complain about being sick after eating there have mostly been removed. I know mine and my wife's were.

Re: “Distill My Heart

You can't say anything about the Independent is untrue because the people behind its origins have taken their names away from the place. You also can't blame the writer because the "truth" is the truth of the people who are now running it.

Re: “Distill My Heart

The article on The Independent Distillery was untrue. The hard work, accomplishments and "true story" behind those who actually built the brand, distilled the spirits and designed the bar were missing entirely and/or misrepresented.

Re: “Distill My Heart

Elgin Distillery also puts out a damned good gin, as well as some good brandies and whiskeys.

Re: “Caviar Dreams

The IUCN currently rates Pacific Bluefin tuna as Vulnerable, the Southern Bluefin tuna as Critically Endangered and the Atlantic bluefin tuna as Endangered. 'Vulnerable' means that it faces a high risk of extinction in the wild. 'Endangered' means that it is facing a very high risk of extinction in the wild. 'Critically endangered' means it is facing an extremely high risk of extinction in the wild.

To Rita: the SW corner of 6th Avenue and Broadway.

To SonoranWinds - really? Was that necessary? Grow up.

Re: “Caviar Dreams

Have visited MiAn three times since the opening and all experiences were VERY positive. I am a BIG fan of Senae Thai and I wasn't all that excited about another Asian restaurant coming in downtown. But MiAn is great - from the ambiance (relaxed but classy) to the knowledgeable wait staff, to the owner (or manager) always stopping by the table to make sure we were happy. The care that they take in their product shows. Definitely worth a try, and I wish them the best of luck.

Re: “Pleasantly Punjab

My wife & I's favorite Indian restaurant, hands down. You did make 2 errors in your review. Mukhtiar Singh owns the "Flavor of India".( and Gandhi's, if I'm not mistaken). Harjinder is related to Mukhtiar. And "Gandhi's" is located at FT Lowell & Stone ( NWcorner) NOT Prince & Stone. Let's not have people getting lost looking for this fine restaurant !!
