Re: “The 'Freedom Center's' High School Course Is On Shaky Ground at TUSD

" To evaluate policy, check its actual effects on real people."

Whoever you are and no matter how liberal you are, amen brother or sister, amen.

One of the all-time great comments.

Re: “The 'Freedom Center's' High School Course Is On Shaky Ground at TUSD

"John Huppenthal, with your well-documented record of A): discriminating against Mexican-American students; and B): making stupid, vile, racist blog posts, you are the last person who should be talking about "poor dears from the hood.""

Sorry Jana, not a single blog post of mine was racist. Unless you are so racist as to believe that the only people on welfare are Hispanic and Black.

Also, believing that minorities should be saturated in English is not racist. Knowledge of and fluency with English is a better predictor of job success than even a high school or college diploma.

Also, look at our hiring record at the department of education. Long before those accusations, we outstripped Arizona's demographics in our hiring of minorities. And, not just minorities, Democrats.

Your diatribe is far more bigoted than my posts or actions which were not bigoted in the slightest.

Re: “Cutting Teacher Compensation and School Funding in Wisconsin

what makes you think that just because david safier is from arizona that that alone means that he approves of our state's spending on education. if you took the time to read what he's written you'd know he does want more money in this state's spending. https://www.tucsonweekly.com/TheRange/arch…

Re: “Cutting Teacher Compensation and School Funding in Wisconsin

So why would a person from Tucson get on their high horse about Wisconsin's spending and school policy when Arizona's is a heck of a lot lower. Political axe to grind comes to mind.

http://www.governing.com/gov-data/education-data/state-education-spending-per-pupil-data.html

Wisconsin in FY 2010 $12,338 down to FY 2014 to $11,186 a 9.3% decrease. Then the last two biennia an uptick followed by an upsurge.

Compare that to Arizona:

Arizona in FY 2010 $8,520 down to FY 2014 to $7,528 an 11.6% decrease. No data available on the last two years in this chart.

There are very few times that I'll ever say this in an official email, but I'm going to say it now, "Bite me", and it's directed to the disingenuous writer of this article

Make it a Happy Thanksgiving!

Re: “Tucson Salvage

I love this! We used to call him mark because he used to stand on golflinks right off of mark street every day for years. Always wondered what became of Arthur Aka Mark. Glad he's ok.

Correct. A poorly education population is easier to dupe, ergo our current GOP takeover...but not for long. We are waking up.

Re: “Steve Bannon Beats the Drum Against Undocumented Immigrants in Tucson Appearance

What I don't understand is what these stooges have against a secure border.

Hey, Tucson Weekly:

You've been excoriating me ever since 2006. Read the comments up above, "the times they are a-changing."

The time has come to have an "in depth" interview with THE central figure of the local opposition to OPEN BORDER POLICY, which has destroyed so many lives, dont'cha think?

Warden, "The Notorious Mexican Flag Burner" who btw has opposed the financial and political exploitation of the Mexican poor ever since 2005.

Re: “Steve Bannon Beats the Drum Against Undocumented Immigrants in Tucson Appearance

This week, five illegal aliens ambushed a border patrol agent and murdered him by crushing his skull with rocks.

Democrats oppose border security measures that would stop this from happening.

Because Democrats benefit politically from the country being overrun with illegal aliens.

Re: “Cutting Teacher Compensation and School Funding in Wisconsin

Republicans do not consider a good education essential for their supporters. In fact a sub-par education is what they prefer to keep their mindless base mindless. It isn't as easy to dupe your followers if they have at least two brain cells that work together.Maybe this could explain why there are so few Republican conservatives teaching in colleges and universities other than those religious campuses where the only two requirements are that you denounce all other religions and say the lords prayer before class, before a meal, before a game, and before you go to sleep.

Re: “Tucson Salvage

I lived in Poets Corner, most recently from 2007-2015. I was raised there, moved away and then went back to care for my Mom until the end of her life. I saw Arthur all the time. I always waved and smiled at him and kind of beamed love at him from a distance. I noticed he was taking care of himself or being cared for by the changes in his appearance...shaved not shaved....clean clothes...stuff like that. I am happy he watched me go by and now feel sure he felt me beaming love his way thanks to your beautiful respectful writing about him. Thank you so much
