Re: “The Skinny

Over confident because of vote fraud? Maybe they should matter.

Re: “The Skinny

Only THREE of the candidates for the Ward III office on the show? There are FOUR people running in that race. I guess if the candidate isn't a "D", they don't matter?

Re: “The Skinny

It's Medicaid, not Medicare and the new plan removes many from those rolls. We still fool each other when we call "slowing the growth of spending" a cut. It had not yet been spent so it was not cut.

State Governors do not fund Medicare. Payroll withholding and income taxes on SS benefits do.

Re: “The Skinny

Medicare cuts amount to 800 billion over the next few years, the increases you mention are only based on the new, punitive figures, not the current levels of spending. Even the Gov. can't go along with that, because he's gonna have to come up with that money statewide instead.

Re: “The Skinny

I figured none of you knew, that's why I asked. How can you come here and spew your venom and hatred not even knowing what you are talking about?

Medicaid spending increases 20% in the next 10 years.

Under the BCRA, Medicaid spending would grow at 1.9 percent per year through 2026 and then at 3.5 percent per year in the decade after 2026.

Try educating yourselves.

Re: “The Skinny

Do any of you know how much Medicaid spending is set to increase over the next ten years under this new bill? Just tell me the percentage, or is that too detailed for your criticism?

For all the talk of letting people die under this plan, you may have forgotten that the Obama administration let our Veterans die because the VA could not find the basic human decency to provide necessary care. Did you complain to Obama?

Re: “The Skinny

As a mentor of mine said of her; it's a tale of 2 Martha's. Honestly, if she would just be straight about her positions I could get back to my lovely life with a smattering of resistance thrown in.
But her disingenuous representation is intolerable.

Re: “The Skinny

The Republican "healthcare" bill has only one central goal -- to improve the financial health of the wealthy. Anything else is smoke, mirrors and plain old horse sh@t.

Stop listening to their words and watch their actions. Either get rich or get dead is the Republican message to those who need their healthcare to survive.

To paraphrase the old saying about the certainty of death and taxes -- under the Republicans, the only things certain will be tax breaks for the rich and death for everyone else.

Re: “The Skinny

McSally is a two-faced liar who cares more about outdated airplanes than her constituents healthcare (she's proud to cut funds to one and touts how she adds funds to another). It's simply unbelievable anyone still supports her. Lies to our face that she won't cut our rights such as pre-existing condition exemptions and then goes and votes to cut them. Vote her lying ass out.

Re: “The Skinny

Obama bankrupted healthcare, and you report just like CNN. Thanks a lot. What is in the bill? You don't seem to know, but it's clear you hate McSally.

Re: “The Skinny

It doesn't help that the public has been lied to about the healthcare replacement bill. The CBO has NO ability to forecast health insurance rates in 2026. That's why they were off over 50% on ACA projections.

Guido, what exactly can you tell us about Gary Watson's voting record?

Re: “The Skinny

Gary Watson seems like a good guy but his voting record is a concern. Being causal about your responsibilities as a citizen is a big part of the problem in this country and ought to disqualify you from consideration for leadership.

As I have said a thousand times, run the best candidate and your candidate can win. Anyone remember Lew Murphy?

As a child I spent countless vacations and weekends with Michael Hard and family in Rocky Point, Flagstaff, Tucson and Phoenix. Michael Hard is a funny, smart and incredibly caring man. His accomplishments in life are abundant, including his terrific family. However, his biggest feat may have been excusing and reversing my innumerable overdraft charges at the Valley Bank while I was an undergrad at the U of A. :)

Indeed, you are very lucky to be a part of the Hard family and to have him as your father in law.

Re: “The Skinny

What a joy it was to grow up with Mike as my older brother! While Mike and brother Fred were close in age, I came along later in '43 and was nurtured and stood up for by my hero, Mike, who played baseball with me by rounding the bases on his knees to "make it fair". I watched him play football at Pomfret and tried valiently but unsuccessfully to live up the school legend that was Mike Hard.
We both owe the entirety of our life credo to our father Fred Hard, Sr.. As upstanding and hard-working a man ever was, Dad was a legend in the sailing world as much as the most respected of Wall St. traders. His nickname among fellow Exchange members and friends was "Honest".
Nary a day goes by that I don't find myself asking him subconsciously if I'm using the right tool, making the right business decision, tying the right knot, or cobbling together a mechanical device.
His sense of humor was unique, to say the least; one day while heading home in a fog from Fire Island he remarked, "Oh..I know where we are now...I recognize that wave".
Happy Father's Day, "Honest"

Re: “The Skinny

I remember Mike Hard from my years working at VNB! As my sister, Maryann Adams, and I have said: Mike is an all around good guy! He was fair, kind and always shared his work ethics of being the best person you can be. I'm proud to have worked with him.

Happy Father's Day
