Re: “Political Punch

CW13 So, hate crimes have dropped to about 500 in 2017, and Trump hate crimes make up about half the sample? Naw. They're a drop in the overall bucket that only increased since the Trump election, and you can consult the Southern Poverty Law Center for additional general facts about hate crime.

That is exactly why he says we need to build the wall. To keep illegals out. What law did his grandfather break? If you have difficulty feeling normal around family and friends, it may be you.

Re: “Political Punch

I did wonder what really happened. The morning after election night was the first time in my life that I woke up with an anxiety attack at 3:30am. Then I tried to assure myself Trump would step up to the job, but I over estimated his capability.I still have difficulty in feeling normal around relatives and friends who excuse everything this value-free, amoral bag of wind says or does, and that feeling extends to Congress. It would have been so lovely if Austria had only reinstated Trump's draft dodging grandfather's citizenship. That is not an illustrious immigrant family. I guess you could call it an immigration problem along with that of Rupert Murdoch.

Re: “Political Punch

No attack. You shared info. I shared info. There's an estimated 260,000 hate crimes in this country annually as per a 2013 government study. You do the math if Trump hate is a real national problem.

Re: “Political Punch

MB: Amren is a controversial site, but that doesn't mean its map is wrong. They provide links to news stories for all the anti-Trump supporter attacks they've documented. If you think they are lying about the attacks, say so and provide evidence. Just saying they are bad people is a lazy ad hominem attack.

Re: “Political Punch

As per Nathan K:

Who is American Renaissance?

American Renaissance (AR or AmRen) is a monthly online magazine described as a white supremacist publication by several sources, including The Washington Post, Fortune, and the Anti-Defamation League. It is published by the New Century Foundation, which describes itself as a "race-realist, white advocacy organization".

Re: “Political Punch

Bryan, great article!
I notice in this photo that you and the person in the hooded outfit are the only two with your arms in the air. What was he saying that motivated you to appear to agree? What is their name? Have the two of you attended any other rallies?

In the top right photo you can see the female security guard kept him from joining in the fight. Did you speak to the hooded person after the fight?

Here is an interesting article regarding this event, from the Left.

And lastly, why do you want them to stop talking about Russia?

Re: “Political Punch

Sure, Bryan might come across as a flyover wasteland version of Abbie Hoffman but he should be commended for any role he played in reducing the charges against Mr. Pettway. It was an egregious assault but considering all of the surrounding circumstances jail time seems silly. Maybe Bryan can get Mr. Pettway to join him in some community service, find a common cause that they can bond over. Friendships have been forged from stranger circumstances and it would send a great message to the nation!

Anyways, I appreciate your passion if not your politics. Don't stop being true to yourself and I hope you continue to move towards unification and cooperation, that is our only way out of this mess.

Re: “Political Punch

Great Article!!! Bryan is one of the nicest folks that I have ever known. He contributes to our city in so many ways. Bryan assists a non-profit agency in Tucson that focuses on mental illness and donates a lot of his time. He has volunteered to teach soccer to high school kids and has done so many other kind services in Tucson, that it would take me hours to list all of Bryan's generous contributions. His kindness and encouragement truly make Tucson a better place! We can learn from Bryan, and we all need to work together to make Tucson better. I have close friends that are Democrats and close friends that are Republicans and we collectively focus on strengthening our community.

Re: “Political Punch

Yes, the people who came to see hear him speak probably got sick of you yelling the whole time. I'm not surprised someone finally punched you. What a jerk.
It must be hard on the liberal narrative that you were punched by a black man.
"a fragile constitutional democracy which in practice is not more than 40 years old". Wow, the U.S. was founded in 1977?

Maybe get old George to get his bulldozers out again and make it a productive profit center for rogue subdividers.

Re: “A Voice in the Wilderness

Jack is an inspired photographer and a terrific guy. He's always been a true friend of natural resources and great places - he helped the Friends of Sabino Canyon (along with Chuck Bowden) raise funds after the floods and wildfires on the Coronado National Forest, as well as collaborating with Chuck on a gorgeous book about the Sonoran Desert. Buy his new book - it's a tribute to our incredible natural places!

Ironwood National Monument is essentially a game preserve for illegal aliens and drug smugglers. Let's not pretend that it's untouched wilderness.
