How much does it pay? Well some of the districts here have plans that allow you to pay more than a basic premium in to increase level of retirement benefits. So how much? It depends.

captain arizona If you saw the video of DPS Milstead we don't even cite HIM for driving 90 mph in traffic and changing lanes without signaling.

As I peruse my memory for things that Congress has done FOR me , nothing comes to mind. I am beginning to think they fear more for Trump exposing them for their actions than they fear backlash from voters.

Think back a month to just how many saw NOTHING WRONG in flying to Epstein's island.

the daily trump derangement syndrome. professor turley said it yesterday. this isn't enough to remove the president. you don't revoke someones driver license for going 5 mile an hour over the speed limit. If democrats got a real impeachable offense let see it. this is just to placate older white clinton democrats with t.d.s. latest poll more blacks oppose impeachment then support the same as the country as a whole. you talk of republicans fear their base if they do the right thing and will get primaried. as the black congresswoman from n.j. found out the hard way when she tried to do the right thing the trump derangement syndromers in democrat party threatened to primary her and worse. read nadlers speech in 1998 about not impeaching a president for minor offense because you don't like bubba because he is a dog. now nailer has done a 180 as have other clinton stooges in congress.

The world is watching us and the world is laughing at us.

We were supposed to be the bastion of freedom and liberty for all the world to envy, but the fatal flaw in any democracy is that the people -- all the people -- must remain engaged to make sure that the government remains focused on the strength of the nation, its institutions and the welfare of all the people it represents.

Unfortunately, modern American culture has continually pulled and pushed Americans away from their civic responsibilities -- whether it is serving on a jury or serving in the armed forces -- popular culture encourages people to let someone else do the heavy lifting and to sit back and enjoy the fruits of others labor.

Well, that attitude -- which has no partisan boundaries -- has played into the hands of our enemies, both foreign and domestic. This nation was attacked by a sworn enemy during the 2016 election and both parties still quibble over which candidate they were helping more.

THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA WAS ATTACKED! All indications are that it will happen again, but we have done nothing to stop it. Only the pointless political bickering continues, like Nero fiddling as Rome burns.

The vacuum left by Americas absence from the world stage has let dictators, despots and despicable governments fill the void and has left America more vulnerable than ever.

Meanwhile, we are meant to focus on political games, reality TV, streaming video, entertainment and sporting events -- bread and circuses for the masses -- as the barbarians amass from without and within.

The world is watching us, the world is laughing at us and some are waiting for us to fall.

Just revealed, Nunes did indeed go to Vienna, and maybe Ukraine, with Lev Parnas no less. This was revealed by phone calls and documents discovered in the Lev Parnas investigation. He lied so that Adam Schiff and his own committee wouldn't find out, according to sources. Can't wait to see Nunes subpoenaed by his own committee or the Judicial. The republican crying will be epic. Oh yeah, that lawsuit, Bwahaha.

I am so glad that Speaker Pelosi has decided to push impeachment proceedings. After watching the pointy headed academicians yesterday, the democrats, blinded by hate, are going to continue to make foolish mistakes. In the Senate trial we will get to hear Schiff, Pelosi and both Bidens testify under oath. Pop me some popcorn but at least one of the stupids is going to jail. They have just reelected Trump. Thanks a lot.

Not sure what to make of this article other than purchasing power and salaries have declined, housing costs have increased, for teachers ( as well as most blue collar jobs). It sucks , but are you a hero, a victim, or none of the above? How does having free will factor into it?

I mostly agree with your interview, but putting The wolf higher on your entertainment scale than this film is a misstep. The excesses of wall street trust funders, the performances of McConahey & Leonardo can't compare with a Hoffa scenario as performed with the dialogue, depth, silent looks, and acting chops of these 3 guys.

I agree AVL and respect your opinion. Ms Miller worked harder on our stinking roads than anybody there. I will miss her as everybody does not need to agree in lockstep, or you can see what we got with the Democrats in Congress. We must have some variety of thought. This paper could use some too.

I worked 12 months a year (for 50 years) to age 66 to qualify for a SS benefit of $1285 per month. I think it would help if everybody understood this benefit that you pay into for your entire working years. It would allow them to see the need for additional savings.

By the way what does the pension plan pay teachers after 25 years of service?

Yes, AZ does have a decent retirement system for county and state employees. It is not a gold mine, however, as some may try to make it out to be!!! I know, I am living on my teacher’s retirement right now and it’s not enough! I still work part time to make ends meet and pay for health care since I am not yet 65. The key is to a decent wage while working and a decent retirement when retired and neither is that decent. A balance should be found!!!!

True to form, the Weakly's editor publicly gloats when he perceives that the target of his years of bullying has given up. Just like the bully in the White House. That's how bullies are -- mean-spirited and nasty to the end. I do not share Ms. Miller's politics, and I don't live in her district, but I respect that she has been the lone voice challenging the deep-seated corruption in Pima County, saying a loud NO when the rest of the Board of Supervisors is kissing the County Administrator's butt. -- an appointed semi-dictator who is ruining good county departments by staffing them with incompetent cronies; who is -- like the editor -- vindictive to those whose challenge him; one of the highest-paid county administrators in the nation who has tried to double-tax us time and again; a hireling who has championed an Avra Valley Interstate 11 for years in violation of the elected BOS's own policies and gotten away with it, no matter the threats to communities and wildlife. No, cronies come first: the Cardon Family. Diamond Ventures. There was a time when the Weakly and other Tucson Local Media papers did their job and exposed the shenanigans instead of being sycophants. That was before the Weakly went "green," when it was still a real newspaper. Thank goodness the Independent and the Sentinel still provide some semblance of a free press.
