Re: “The Skinny

Actually, retrorv, I took it from Huckelberry's memo, not Supervisor Miller's website. It seems they agree on the amount, just not what was done with it. Check it for yourself on the Pima County website.

If the Board of Supervisors is the County Administrator's employer, and it is, how does the employee get to trash one of his employers with such impunity? I was a union rep for 21 years and could never have won such a clear-cut case of gross insubordination. Even with the active help of Mr. Nintzel.

Re: “The Skinny

AVL-You got the $61, 872, 366 from Ally's website. I didn't notice any proof on there either. But we'd all be happy to see your's.

Re: “The Skinny

Clinton and Sanders campaigns both took advantage of young women. Some believe they attract them because they believe they are young and ignorant. Which one of us will say "enough?" They are destroying our government with their criminality. Get out!

Re: “The Skinny

What's the big deal? Does every issue REQUIRE a response from a politician or other public figure? I personally wish some of these learned "public figures" would be as mum as Congresswoman McSally but then we wouldn't have such silly articles.

Re: “The Skinny

Does every woman in Alabama have to come forth saying that Roy Moore sexually assaulted them to convince the brain-hole Republican right-wingnut conservatives that he is a full-blown pedophile and should have been labeled a sexual predator instead of becoming a judge. What the hell were they thinking? It's not like a cold that goes away after a couple of weeks.

Re: “The Skinny

The Skinny rarely investigates anything, just as we see with Huckleberry's unchecked excuses.

Where are the photos of the worn out furniture? Where are the proof of original purchase price and the auction sale price of said furniture? By the way why aren't the roads in Pima County in better shape?

The only thing Skinny here are real facts. There seem to be very few. Is anything actually investigated or is it all about political smear campaigns to empower those that agree with your agenda?

Re: “The Skinny

If we're going to cherry-pick from Supervisor Miller's list, I'll go with the Downtown Court Complex. Bonds were approved in the amount of $76 million, but an additional $61, 872, 366 was spent. Neither the County Administrator, nor The Skinny, tells us where that money came from. Huckelberry admits to $16 million General Fund money spent and offers rather weak reasons why it "had" to be, ignoring a lot of possible alternatives. Sorry if I'm confusing anyone with the facts.

Re: “The Skinny

She's voted with the Trumpers & R's 93% of the time. I'm amazed that anyone would be surprised by her reluctance to speak on the possibility of a pedophile being elected to the Senate....and yes, I do believe those women!

Re: “The Skinny

Most voters favor lowering immigration levels. Flake favored keeping them at the currently very high rates. He quit because he knew he was going to lose. Then he made a speech to make it look like it was the courageous thing to do. Only a politician could manage that.

Re: “The Skinny

I have been an educator for 20 years. I have primarily taught Language Arts/Writing.

I have always taught my students to write what they felt... because in writing, we can express our hearts.

I told them if they needed to use words deemed "inappropriate", that they could spell them out as is, or they could write them as he** or sh*t or f*ck.

And I told them they couldn't do it in their future professional lives...

I didn't know that "fucks" and "bullshit" don't get automatically censored in the media. Mind. Blown.

Permission has been granted to expand on my narrative to students, and denounce the existing language registers (which I believe are classist).

Now I am remembering the first time I heard "fuck" on the big screen ("Robocop 2"), and the first time I heard a kid call their parents by their first names ("90210")...

Always rebels out there.

Re: “The Skinny

AVL, the simple explanation is this. The County Administrator is the employee of the Board of Supervisors as an entity, not the employee of a single supervisor. The Board of Supervisors as an entity is a body comprised of at least 3 affirmative votes. When any Supervisor is a lone vote, whether for good or ill, they are NOT the employer, just a member of the Board. Which is why to accomplish business of any type, learning to work with your peers is essential.
