Re: “The Ward 6 Pack

"Cease's Green New Deal starts with a realignment of budget priorities, to move money away from corporation incentives..." An anti-corporate welfare candidate, imagine that. Here's hoping the #DemExit vote turns out for him. Good luck, Mike.

Re: “Think of the Children

Anytime props come out with kids in the heading it means more money.the sad part is the money raised never goes where it was intended. Look at the tobacco tax,to date so much money has been collected and where has it gone? Whoever came up with this isn't looking at children only seeing dollar signs. Pima county don't pass any of these propositions. Vote no on props, please!

Re: “Think of the Children

God knows I want educated kids but I agree on the props, too much to saddle the poor and middle class families with when they are struggling with minimum wage and poor pension or low social security checks. All told, with the Pima County tax, they are asking for 2 percent more on the dollar and this appears to be a private operation which is a horror, and only effective inside the city limits. As far as I'm concerned this is another Ducey selling state trust lands to bring wealth to the schools fairy tale. Those living in Pima County will pay all of the increase plus an increase in property taxes AGAIN, while Ducey gives our money to the Kochs for their program at the UofA. If the state doesn't step up and stop starving the counties, another way will have to be found to force them to cough up the fair share for the rest of the state.

Re: “Standing With Rosa

1 in 5 Americans is an immigrant or immigrant's minor children. 48 million Americans are immigrants, by far the highest number in history.
Immigration rates are way too high, that is why people are asking to reduce immigration, not because suddenly people are racist.

Re: “Think of the Children

204, absolutely not. Child-rearing is not the government's job.
Props 202 and 203 are so mind-bogglingly complex that there is no way I'll vote for either one. I like the zoo, but there has to be a better way to fund it than a sales tax, especially when basic services like schools and roads are in such bad shape.

Re: “Memorial Service

Am I the only one who thinks the location is inappropriate? This should be built at the shopping center where the shooting took place, not downtown. I am definitely open to reasons why downtown is a better location but it seems like the only reason is because it is public land and the shopping center is private land which would make the process more difficult....
