Re: “A River Ran Through It

We need to make sure we get this natural source of water flowing through Tucson again! It was never anyone right to dam it the way they did or dry it. Now 2017 I'm sure we can restore it. We need to act fast. They Building more and more in the "Flood Areas" as an more valid excuse as to why they cant restore it. People in power know people are going to start fighting for these types of things now! A guy in California is sueing now and he states that the river is mostly dry due to general electric company taking control of most of the rivers up NW that ran down to the SW i thought that was the main reason why it had dried. Please any info on how we can start something to regain this river would be nice

The President's hectoring the Press is treasonous, undermining people's trust in all our principles.

Re: “Political Punch

Provocateur -- a person who provokes trouble, causes dissension, or the like; an agitator.

This is not journalism, but it is what passes for journalism today.

Real journalism, not unlike my former career as a military police investigator, is about finding and preserving evidence, gathering facts and records that either substantiate or unsubstantiated a crime. It is not about having a predetermined outcome and working toward a conclusion by selecting only things that support the desired results. If I did my job right, I did not need testimonial evidence, such as statements and confessions, the physical evidence and facts were sufficient to convict; all though, confessions were the icing on the cake.

Today, too many "journalists" are semi-professional sh@t-starters more interested in garnering attention to their particular point of view than revealing the truth -- warts and all.

I firmly support the First Amendment -- I gave more than 20 years supporting and defending the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, and today we are facing threats from both foreign and domestic powers, some of which are working together against the American people and our institutions.

If we are to survive these challenging times we must hold both the government and the press to higher standards. The truth is not something that resides on a sliding scale or is a matter of your point of view.

"The will of the people is the only legitimate foundation of any government, and to protect its free expression should be our first object." -- Thomas Jefferson (1743-1826)

Re: “The life of Timothy H. O'Sullivan

So glad you've archived this article and that I've found it! It turns out Timothy O'Sullivan photographed the area in southern Colorado near the site of my great-grandparents' dude ranch, many years before that was established. Fascinating story and such incredible pictures!

Re: “Political Punch

I am far from being anything close to be called or labeled as a Trump fan or supporter.
But, The irrefutable Facts are that protected Free speech has been hindered by threats, physical violence, property damage and outbursts of the far left far more than this isolated Sanders incident where he was shouting and trying to stop Trump from speaking. Bottom line, Sanders's comments are not worth the cost of the ink required to print them, let alone being given the dignity as a lead story in this or any other publication!!

@BILOHAK

In all seriousness, name one thing Trump is doing to benefit Tucson?

He doesn't really seem to be able to do anything, and there are so many things that need to be done.

Re: “Political Punch

This guy Sanders must be as mentally challenged as he is biased against Trump. What kind of an idiot would go to any event to disrupt the proceedings and oppose the main purpose. I trust the Weekly will give equal time to recognize everything Trump is doing to the benefit of Tucson, Arizona, the U.S. and the world.

Re: “Political Punch

CW13 So, hate crimes have dropped to about 500 in 2017, and Trump hate crimes make up about half the sample? Naw. They're a drop in the overall bucket that only increased since the Trump election, and you can consult the Southern Poverty Law Center for additional general facts about hate crime.

That is exactly why he says we need to build the wall. To keep illegals out. What law did his grandfather break? If you have difficulty feeling normal around family and friends, it may be you.

Re: “Political Punch

I did wonder what really happened. The morning after election night was the first time in my life that I woke up with an anxiety attack at 3:30am. Then I tried to assure myself Trump would step up to the job, but I over estimated his capability.I still have difficulty in feeling normal around relatives and friends who excuse everything this value-free, amoral bag of wind says or does, and that feeling extends to Congress. It would have been so lovely if Austria had only reinstated Trump's draft dodging grandfather's citizenship. That is not an illustrious immigrant family. I guess you could call it an immigration problem along with that of Rupert Murdoch.

Re: “Political Punch

No attack. You shared info. I shared info. There's an estimated 260,000 hate crimes in this country annually as per a 2013 government study. You do the math if Trump hate is a real national problem.

Re: “Political Punch

MB: Amren is a controversial site, but that doesn't mean its map is wrong. They provide links to news stories for all the anti-Trump supporter attacks they've documented. If you think they are lying about the attacks, say so and provide evidence. Just saying they are bad people is a lazy ad hominem attack.

Re: “Political Punch

As per Nathan K:

Who is American Renaissance?

American Renaissance (AR or AmRen) is a monthly online magazine described as a white supremacist publication by several sources, including The Washington Post, Fortune, and the Anti-Defamation League. It is published by the New Century Foundation, which describes itself as a "race-realist, white advocacy organization".

Re: “Political Punch

Bryan, great article!
I notice in this photo that you and the person in the hooded outfit are the only two with your arms in the air. What was he saying that motivated you to appear to agree? What is their name? Have the two of you attended any other rallies?

In the top right photo you can see the female security guard kept him from joining in the fight. Did you speak to the hooded person after the fight?

Here is an interesting article regarding this event, from the Left.

And lastly, why do you want them to stop talking about Russia?
