Re: “Back in Gear: The Bike Ranch

^^^ This comment contains false info, a specialty of the opposition group.

If the project was in direct opposition to the PC BOZO, it would not have been approved by PC Development Svcs and the PC Hearing Administrator.

File under lie by omission the fact that the commenter does not mention the Saguaro National Park East admin has modified its position on the project, moving from objection in 2014 to non-opposition now. Further, SNPE personnel was quoted on azpm.org as stating they look forward to working with the developer.

Hopefully, common sense will prevail over the will of hysterical NIMBYs.

Re: “Back in Gear: The Bike Ranch

The Tucson Bike Ranch is a proposal to build a motel right across the street from a national park disguised as an "eco freindly bike ranch." It is an attempt to the exploit a natural resource unique to the Tucson area known as Saguaro National Park East for the benefit of one commercial developer. If the goal is to provide improved bike access to Saguaro Naional Park East for visitors and residents that should be accomplished by expanding the current bike loop network, not building a motel across the street from the park. This proposal is in direct opposition to the Pima County buffer overlay zoning ordinance 18.67.010 that was passed in 1988 to protect the unique nature of the Sonoran desert for future generations.

Re: “AZ Senate Republicans Push For a New NAU "Freedom School" While They Undercut University, K-12 Funding

Finally, there is some reporting on charter schools, with their secret budgets, their hidden administrative salaries and "profits" that may leave the state forever. Why It took years to even start reporting anything at all is so overdue that it is strange. This fiscal secrecy seems to have been born from an incestuous marriage of charter owners and majority party AZ politicians. I do not care how good (some are) or mediocre individual charter schools might be - just show how much money you are harvesting every year, and then show taxpayers what you do with the shared tax money.

Do this reporting annually just like all public school districts must do. Publish every single budget line for each and every operating cost, the individual salaries and dollar value benefits for all employees from top to bottom, and all "profits" that derive directly from legally collected taxes. Also - now that reporters are on to this more, I would like to read through public money budgets for all charter schools, extinct or still operating, all the way back to June, 1994.

Typical deflection which you excel at Dave D, Chump 2020 or whatever the fuck name you pull out of your ass. I didn't get into any sort of discussion that involved taking care of families. Learn how to read and quit being a trolling dolt.

Re: “Afternoon Cartoon: Alabama Law

Elections have consequences. Clintonistas and the democratic establishment donor class were more interested in stoping bernie sanders then protecting a woman's ( mostly teenage girls) right to choose. Clintonistas thought they could force the left of the party to hold their nose and vote for clinton/kaine (hey he spoke spanish that was supposed to impress latinx voters.) This should seal the victory for the democrat party in 2020. Groper joe better put stacy abrams on the ticket to stop another 6 million mostly black voters from staying home again as they did in 2016 when hillarys semi-racist past turned them off. The left wants sanders as AOC is not old enough to run in 2020. We on the left will have to decide if we can hold are nose and vote for groper joe.

O.K. smithappens, glad to oblige. Another moronic column by Pulitzer Tommy. But, he's excused. Two columns in one week. Probably take a month to get over all that extra work. And he managed not to blame Trump for either event.
Happy?

Re: “Back in Gear: The Bike Ranch

Tucsonians who are opposing the Bike Ranch are like the ones who years ago decided it wasn't good to have a freeway system. Seems to me that they are a group of people who think their interests should override the whole area population who would enjoy this type of development. They probably would be the same people who try to stop housing developments unless it is their own and seem to be just very selfish, self-centered people.

Re: “Let's Read An Interview With Kurt Cobain On The 21st Anniversary of "Nevermind"

all due respect, why mention "theories" Cobain was killed by his wife if there's no substantial proof or evidence to suggest it? Wouldn't a more interesting and related insight (while on the truth behind his suicide topic) be a mention that many in his inner circle have in recent years confirmed that an "accidental overdose" of rohypnol (sp?) and champagne led to stomach pumping and ER OD tactics taken to resurrect a flat lined Cobain occurred while on tour in Rome, Italy? Or that this secret suicide attempt (complete with its own suicide note) was considered potential evidence authorities in L.A. County Sherriff's Dept. could exploit in attempting to fully revoke custody of Frances Bean? Wouldn't the possible lessons for others facing suicidal loved ones be better served by revealing this very sad bu instructive incident, instead of a long debunked and vaguely misogynist urban myth involving Courtney Love's pariah role as Yoko to Cobain's Nirvana-ending demise?
