Re: “Letter to the Editor

Yep, it's all about the liberal hate and racism. We all know that nonsense just doesn't exist in the conservative world. Heck, the guy they just helped make President-elect doesn't have any of those bad qualities. He's gotta lotta respect for women also. He offers to buy the ladies a couch before he "grabs 'em by the pussy!" I can't think of a more respectful way to show a woman what a gentleman you can be. Chivalry is certainly not dead with the Orange Overlord.

So much hate for such a tiny and narrow mind. Eventually, it's gonna build up to the point where you can no longer vent it out quickly enough by simply ranting on this site. The pressure is gonna blow your head apart. Have you ever seen the David Cronenberg film "Scanners"? That will be child's play compared to where your hate is leading you.

Unfortunately, the far-right racist extremists refuse to learn anything or have feelings for anyone. Nothing can be done to change that. Haters gonna hate.

Re: “Letter to the Editor

"The hatred of white people by liberals is off the charts. Never in a time of history has their been such blatant racism."

NEVER in a time of history. Seriously? That's some awkward sentence structure which you've used, also you're wrong again. Open a history book you dolt.

Also, talking about pussy is one thing; saying that you take it and women accept that because you're a (very weak example of) a celebrity is quite another.

Haters keep on hating.

The cycle is never ending.

The ignorance and unwillingness to learn will never cease.

Vent harder. That hate pressure expanding your little mind is making you look like a bobble head. Explosion is imminent.

Re: “Letter to the Editor

Trump supporters in this comment thread are a bunch of pussies. This is as good as it's gonna get for you guys. I'm conservative, and you all disgust me. You've lost all credibility in any conversation about racism, sexism, bigotry, foreign issues, domestic issues, just about anything, by supporting Trump. Keep reading Breitbart, keep denying/defending your racism, and keep calling anyone who disagrees with you a baby(so edgy and creative). You came out of your racist hidey-holes when Obama was elected, and now you're emboldened by Trump and his gang of white nationalists and religious nuts. You're a bunch of pathetic losers who bitch about the liberal media while sucking at the teet of the conservative and alt-right media. Go gas up your big trucks while you can still afford it and and fly your hypocrite flags high so we can all tell who the douchebag, homophobic, racists are. Quoting Brietbart?! Lololol!

Re: “Letter to the Editor

When it comes to diversity and the folly of trying to fight it, I cannot help but think of the classic Star Trek about the two "aliens" fighting over one being black on the right and white on the left and the other being white on the left and black on the right. We are all humans with more in common than you think, whether you are black and lean to the left or white and lean to the right.

"For in the final analysis, our most basic common link, is that we all inhabit this small planet, we all breathe the same air, we all cherish our children's futures, and we are all mortal."

Liberal men do wear panties with pride. It's you conservative "men" who wear them, ashamedly, in the closet.

Re: “Letter to the Editor

Nice one with the "relax snowflakes; change your panties" comment. Both condescending and sexist.

Re: “Letter to the Editor

I see nothing entertaining about abusing animals in a pen that people pay to watch. Promoters pretend Tucson was a "cowboy town" but it has no such history. Remote cattle ranches in Pima County employed cow hands but they rarely got to town. A Hollywood movie set was built outside of town in the 30s, later maintained to lure tourists. Today's "cowboy" culture is a movie invention for kids popular in the 30s-60s for people to pretend a life that never was.

Re: “Letter to the Editor

I've lived here all my life and still love it here. I'm also a staunch conservative but I'm in agreement with the writer that if that were dogs, there would be such an outcry. As I said, I grew up with the rodeo and the parade and it definitely is time to put them "out to pasture"

@BSLAP - Meme?!? Non-bigoted white men are a "meme"? Your depth of thought is sadly indicative of the majority of those who voted for a bigoted white man to take a dump on this country for the next 4 years. Or until he gets impeached, in which case his bigoted VP gets to take a squat at it, too.

Re: “Letter to the Editor

People ARE dealing with it the same way the Republican Party leadership dealt with it the first time President Barack Obama was elected - they are banding together to ensure that President Donald Trump is a one-term president.

Unfortunately for the people they don't have the same level of power that the Republicans welded when they shut down the government and repeatedly blocked every attempt by President Obama to move this country forward.

The level of obstructionism, malfeasance and treason demonstrated by the Republican leadership for the past eight years has been monumental in its scope, yet the winners of this election are calling for the people to "give Trump a chance." Where was that attitude eight years ago?

Re: “Letters to the Editor

During the Street Fair, 4th Ave becomes a closed show and only a limited number of participants are allowed to perform or provide a service such as face painting, characatures, henna tattoos, etc. If the number of participants were not limited, it would be difficult to manage and there would be significantly more competition for the available tips. Each entertainer or service provider pays a nominal entrance fee which covers things like applicable taxes and such. And with each paid application the entertainer or service provider is given a badge which allows them to participate the entire weekend of the Fair. The badge must be visible at all times or they will be questioned by the security team or "goon squad" as you call them. If the badge is in plain sight, the security team will keep walking. But checking badges is one of their primary responsibilities during the fair. And if there is no badge, the person will be asked to leave the boundaries of the fair. And It's not a matter of removing "riff raff" as you say, it's more a matter of removing the folks who didn't pay the appropriate fees and making it fair for those who did. And the "goon squad" is perfectly within their rights to remove anyone who fails to follow the rules. And sadly it sometimes requires assistance from TPD because people become quite belligerent at times when they are busted not following the rules. Go figure!

In your particular case, however, you technically should not have been allowed to participate at all during the fair, because you didn't pay the fee nor did you submit the application. The badges are supposed to be non transferable and that is clearly stated in the paperwork that is signed prior to the fair. Had you submitted the application in advance and paid the appropriate fee, you would be well aware of the guidelines for participation. And if your friend is indeed banned, it's because she failed to follow the rules for participation by giving her badge to you.

So for future reference, there is no designated "face painting spot" as you say. The badges are for individuals and are not transferable. Follow the rules or be prepared to pack your stuff and move along.

It sounds like the two previous posters are precisely the reason why we need this movement... White Privilege can be quite ugly at times...

Re: “Letter to the Editor

What some Americans got wrong is they allowed the Republican leadership to tell them that bigotry, prejudice and racial hatred where things of the past and they allowed the dismantling of long-standing laws to keep them in check. Then some Americans got it wrong again by succumbing to bigotry, prejudice and hatred and voted for someone who is the embodiment of all those traits, as if anyone needed proof that they still very much exist in America.

Re: “Letter to the Editor

I hate to throw a wet blanket on your fire, or in this case a moth-eaten hair piece, but unless you are counting Trump's term in dog years, it is only going to be four (4) not eight (8).

Re: “Letter to the Editor

Nonsense. None of these first, overly cautious laws are ideal. The rules will be adjusted over time just as they are in other places.

I had to vote for it. The anti-205 signs were just so stupid that I couldn't ignore them
