Re: “Best Tamales

So tired of this place taking the trophy every year and people going on about how great they are. They are good. Lerua's are good. A lot of places are good. However, Tucson Tamale tastes NOTHING like real authentic tamales. They get an extra boost because the trendy crowd loves them, but they aren't deserving of such rewards and chatter.

Re: “Best Mariachi Band

Tucson High's website is outdated and incorrect but it is an honor to receive this recognition!

Re: “Best Chile Relleno

What is it about the new TW that just can't get the Clinton presidency facts correct? I mean, we all would like to forget about his time in office, but c'mon! This makes 2 for 2 with the Clinton/Mi Nidito mistakes. Shame on you TW.

Re: “Best Chile Relleno

Uh, President Bill Clinton ate at Mi Nidito in 1999, and sworn into his first term in 1993.

Re: “Best Sonoran Hot Dogs

There's a new dog in town, Zona DawgZ if you really want to try a real sonoran hot dog. then i suggest you visit this hot dog cart, you'll experience the difference,"The Best" and great service.

Re: “Best Sonoran Hot Dogs

do not get sonoran hotdogs from guerro canelo. their other food is great, but the dogs are terrible. they don't use the right type of classic hispanic buns that melt in your mouth and have the little sweetness. the fact that they are on this list shows me it is politically influenced and someone is on the take. if you go there try any of their other items.
i agree that BK makes amazing sonoran dogs. personally i would try any of the independent street vendors with their own food carts/trucks. i have not had a bad experience at any of them yet

Re: “Best Fish Tacos

Visited Mariscos Chihuahua on Grant last night, Wednesday, with out of town visitors. Food was very good, as usual, but the service was terrible: The entire staff, except for the cook, spent the hour gossiping at the bar. We had to go to the bar to get chips, drink refills and to see the bill, and then they charged us for an extra entree. This location needs new management and a new staff. Just don't fire teh cook!

Re: “Best Burrito

What a joke! You'd think that living in Tucson, these people would actually have even a slight understanding of what good Mexican food is. I am extremely surprised that Burgerrito didn't make this list!!

If you want a burrito I recommend Taco Tote, which offers up a more authentic experience than anything on this list. If a bowl is more your style, Sir Veza's makes a mean one -- the carnitas is just great -- but make sure you head out to the East location of Sir V's, as the Northern location has the worst service in town (Sidenote, their happy hour is killer for drinks).
