Re: “Vote Yes on Prop 205

This is an excellent explanation of the Tucson Families Free and Together initiative. I strongly encourage all Tucson voters to vote YES on Prop. 205!

Re: “Vote Yes on Prop 205

Be on the right side of history. Vote YES. People always say, "How could the German people have let concentration camps happen?" This is how. We have already let it happen. Let's make sure our city does not collaborate with an illegal and immoral campaign to separate families and end asylum.

Re: “Weekend At Donnie’s

So this is the defense...failing mental health, like some elderly mafia don facing life in prison, we roll out the ultimate alibi for a life full of greed, malfeasance and criminal hubris and allow a man who has systematically despoiled and destroyed every branch of the American government, as well as dangerously diminished this country's credibility, standing and safety among the nations of the world to simply fade away to some retreat to continue living in a world of his own imagination and machinations.

This is no Camelot. This is no dream of what could have been. This is a nightmare dredged up from the depths of a man with no soul, no remorse, no morals, no ethics, nothing but a monstrous ego with a twisted Midas touch that instead of turning everything to gold transmogrifies, corrupts and rots until there is nothing left but broken promises, countless lies and hollow husks of what used to be the men and women he used to surround himself so no one could see the sad bully that would be a king in a land ruled by fear, racism, ignorance, loathing and blind loyalty to someone who -- without his inherited and ill-gotten wealth -- would have been one of those lonely and forgotten wretches that live on the edge of society awaiting oblivion as the only escape from the demons of their own making.

"And thus I clothe my naked villainy with old odd ends, stol'n forth of holy writ; And seem a saint, when most I play the devil." -- William Shakespeare (Richard III, Act 1, Scene 3)

Most of his supporters wouldn't recognize the symptoms because they are further along than he is toward dementia.

Re: “Weekend At Donnie’s

Time for something you tRump lovers don't love. A reality check.

1) tRump has absolutely nothing to do with the way the economy is currently going.
2) tRump is not making any progress with changing immigration policies.
3) Because of tRump, the USA has become the laughingstock of the rest of the world.
4) The fact that you believe tRump isn't a sycophant for big business is very amusing.

Everyone who supports tRump is supporting a traitor to the USA. Get outside of your safe space, learn that tRump supporters are the people who are truly deranged and learn what's really going on.

Re: “Guest Opinion

Thank you for this Pat, it beggars belief that a public servant such as he is can be such a blatant hypocrite and not be called out on it more widely. Ridiculous too that there should be any support for these repeals of sensible laws.

I'm not sure which is douchier, your comment or your avatar. They're both chock full of douchebaggery, so it makes for a tough decision. I'm just gonna call it a draw. Congratulations on your douchiness.

Re: “Guest Opinion

He has my vote. He questions whether expenses like the too wide expansion of the Broadway Corridor are relevant with today's traffic projections. He cares about neighborhoods and works hard to solve problems with matters affecting them. Even in matters where I might disagree, I feel he has thought through things and made choices, rather doing the politically expedient.

Re: “Guest Opinion

If I remember correctly, Steve first left the Republican party and then registered and ran for his second term as a Democrat because the Republican party, even here in Pima County, proved inhospitable to a centrist Republican council member. Republican or Democrat, Steve is the same intelligent, honest, hard-working council member for whom I wish I could vote.

Re: “Guest Opinion

Interesting that two out of four respondents accuse Kozachik of abandoning the Constitution and the Bill of Rights without providing any factual evidence... It seems as though they either dislike Steve on a personal level ot they simply don't understand either of the Founding documents the mention...

I own a business in Ward 6. I have found Steve and his staff to always be available and interested in whatever assistance I have requested. He is very practical and realistic in addressing the concerns of our community. I'm a big fan!

Re: “Guest Opinion

Such a great man, the picture of integrity! I love SteveK because he is a real human being and has a strong core that motivates everything he does. Though I live in the County and cannot vote for him, I am here to say that I will volunteer and do anything I can to make sure he gets re-elected. Tucson is lucky to have him work for our city. He always stands for what is RIGHT! Thank you for your service! You are 1 in a MILLION!

Re: “Guest Opinion

To the boneheads who think this was the right thing to do. First, if you had a clue who the 75K SSA recipients were and how they were treated, you might understand. SSA finds out that someone is not taking care of themselves, investigates, then goes to court to have a Conservator appointed as the individuals have proven not to be able to take care of everyday business, such as paying rent, buying food, keeping themselves clean and healthy. Their funds are then put in the hands of the Conservator who is required to report how the money is used. To put guns in the hands of someone declared incapable of handling day to day living simply belies common sense much less the implications of legal responsibility should these individuals commit a crime. These are not the hundreds of thousands of disabled on SSA benefits, but a small portion of the whole.
Further, the same is true of Veterans Administration beneficiaries with mental illnesses. So, what Flake is saying is that it is OK to have someone with mental illnesses such as PTSD of such severity that a representative payee is appointed to be able to own guns. Do you want someone like that next door with your children running amok outside? Again, this is a small subset of veterans receiving benefits.

Re: “Guest Opinion

Flake is an embarrassment to Arizona. His Duck-horse question at the current SCOTUS hearings was a slap in the face of Arizonans who actually care what a Supreme Court Justice thinks.

Re: “Guest Opinion

Putting all else aside, how is it OK that one candidate gets a guest opinion that is in essence a political advertisement for himself? Did the candidate pay for this advertisement? Does the Weekly intend to extend the same opportunity to other candidates in the future?

Re: “Vote No on Prop 205

Voting Absolutely yes. Unfortunately there are a lot of conspiracy thinkers, delusional thinking, and sheep following the crowd for fear of the unknown. Action from a place of ignorance and a fear of having an original thought. A lot of non-progressives in the state of Arizona, stuck in their loops, so afraid of change and that their little selfish worlds will be rocked.
