Re: “Best Place to Look for Bigfoot

Many of my nieghbors here in Willow Lakes , Benson , Arizona , are respectable honest people ; whom have claimed to have had an encounter with some sort of Wild Man or Sasquatch . I personally have seen a Wild Man wearing a thick fur and an animal skull ! Scared the breath out of me , then it raised its hand in the air and turned around ( away from me ) Just as I seen her beautiful face , and ran away

Re: “Best Backpacking

But these aren't really backpacking trips... Hiking sure, but honestly does anyone go backpacking to Sabino Canyon or Seven Falls?

Re: “Best Backpacking Trail

Actually overnight camping is only restricted in what qualifies as the actual recreation area. I just spoke to a park ranger there recently because of a trip we're planning and she said as long as you reach the area where it qualifies as national forest (Like Hutch's Pool) it's ok to overnight there if you're backpacking.

Re: “Best Hike

I've hiked the Telephone Line Trail of Sabino Canyon often.

Re: “Best Desert Drive

Detour to the BEST echo in Tucson. North of Kinney Road about 1/4 mile ,on Tucson Estates Parkway just past Rafter Circle. Turn left into the dirt parking lot for the trailhead entrance. On Fri., Sat., and Sun. the gun range is open in Tucson Mountain Park and the 5 or 6 echoes off Golden Gate Mountain ar fantastic.

Re: “Best Backpacking Trail

That's beautiful writing :) I'm in Boston and we don't have as many of the vistas you have in the southwest. Will have to go backpacking there someday!

Re: “Best Hike

Agreed! Sabino Canyon can be a little busy on the weekends, but for an easily accessible can't be beat. From personal experience - bring plenty of water if you're hiking the phone line trail then back on the road. I found a couple of books at the gift shop very helpful with local plant life: Plants of Arizona by Anne Epple (for plant ID) and if you're into ethnobotany and local edible and medicinal plants go with Charles Kane's Herbal Medicine of the American Southwest and his new one, Sonoran Desert Food Plants...nice photos too!

Re: “Best Neighborhood Garden

I love this garden so much I moved into the neighborhood!
Its worth the visit, even if to just look at the bicycle art.

Re: “Best Backpacking Trail

Backpacking requires overnight camping. There is no camping in Sabino Canyon. This confirms my suspicion that despite their big talk, Tucsonans never actually go outside to do anything.

Re: “Best Way to Get Your Butt Kicked

Kirsten rocks! She is always cheerful and encouraging, but at the same time, seriously manages to kick some butt! I have been in her boot camp for over 3 years, and I love every minute of it. Congratulations, Kirsten!

Re: “Best Way to Get Your Butt Kicked

WOW!!!! Was seriously surprised by this! My boot campers tell me I'm awesome all the time. But now I think I believe them! Since I don't really advertise to keep my prices down, I really appreciate this!!! Thank you!!!!!
