Don't know about you but the original Atkins (zero carb) diet worked for me! I lost so much weight colleagues did not recognize me...
It's a _dangerous_ diet, so follow Atkins' instructions. Stop drinking coffee (you'll be so energized you won't need it). Coffee raises your insulin levels (hence, the "sweeties," dehydrates you, and the acidity gives you "false hunger"--a triple whammy!)
That said, prepare to drink incredible amounts of water or LOSE YOUR KIDNEYS! Prepare to see your body temperature rise as your pancreas and insulin go into high gear re-transforming your fat deposits into sugars that fuel your muscles. Drink water.
Prepare to lose a lot of sleep due to frequent urination at night and the need to drink more water. But eat all the meat (burger patties, rib eye, bacon, lamb/pork chops, etc.), eggs, and veggies (no potatoes, though--avoid all starches) your stomach can hold, including chicharrones! (Fried pork rinds). Drink Water.
Stay away from all fruits, and anything with sugar in it (yes, avoid ALL processed food). Be prepared to be constantly hungry so keep a quart of water and chicharrones/cukes/tomatoes/zucchini within arms reach. Drink water.
Don't exceed ten days on this regime, taper off, add one daily fruit serving to your diet. And _never_ go back to sugar, the addictive white that leads to diabetes and serious cholesterol. Before long your Charles Atlas-like figure will greet you in the mirror...
Atkins _must_ become a way of life or be prepared to find you've gained all those lost dozens of pounds in a matter of weeks! Minimize starches and sugars...forever. Drink water.
If and when you forget to _drink water_ during this diet, your kidneys will remind you, painfully so.
