Re: Danehy
I hope that at some point you were able to see the Twelve Chairs. That was my intro to Mr. Brooks films, although I had a friend who grew up with him, knew him very well and genuinely and lovingly described him as insane. From birth. Once I saw the rest of his movies, the Twelve Chairs seemed, to me, prophetic. The oddball humor, the, of all things, subtlety. Of course, the borderline lunacy of the great but under-esteemed Irish actor Ron Moody helped push it all over the finish line.

Mel's best? Not IMHO but I never miss a rerun.

Thanks for the memories and the laughs, Tom and Mel.

My first wife loved Blazing Saddles as much as I do. Unfortunately, she also loved spending more money that I made. My second wife can't stand it but hates to spend money. Oh well, I'm just a pawn in the game of life.

If you look up to amoral, narcissistic sociopaths, then it's you who have the father figure issues.

Giuliani has always been a sleezebag and a fraud who promoted and capitalized on his undeserved reputation as Americas mayor.

Re: “Danehy

I moved to Tucson in 1978 and had the opportunity to see the Tucson Community Center and La Placita Village when they were still nearly new. There were some shops and restaurants at the La Placita Village, as well as brown-bag lunch outlets for the downtown workers to enjoy their lunches.

It was really a very attractive place with nice architecture and water features in the courtyard area. I remember once seeing a fashion photographer using the fountain area to photograph a model. I also have seen a number of performances at the Tucson Music Hall, including "Cats" and Richard Einhorn's "Voices of Light".

Too bad the La Placita Village is being demo'd and replaced by the typical architecturally uninteresting monstrosity by the Humberto Lopez firm. It will have no sense of place, and will have "market-rate" apartments (aka over-priced apartments for the rich).

What a loss.

1. Pryor and Murphy are African Americans. (you should check out the last few Chapelle comedy specials)

2. Lying Tom Danehy is not a multicultural comedian.

3. Lying Tom Danehy is not joking when he blasts African Americans for how they speak, their choice of names, their political beliefs, and other aspects of African American culture that dont fit with his Old White Guy ideology.

Re: “Danehy

we used to have a sense of humor and could laugh at ourselves and those different from us. multicultural comedians are hilarious at pointing out the differences in culture. Not racist. It's a funny look of how groups with different backgrounds deal with stuff. Good enough for Pryor & Murphy, what's the big deal?

Bingo.

Lying Tom definitely has a problem with African Americans and African American culture. Also, if an African American steps off his Old White Guy Political Plantation Tom is quick to Uncle Tom them.

But when his daughter, coming back from a Latin American country that has a history of illegal drug importation into the U.S., gets pulled into secondary screening, just as thousands of other U.S. citizens are daily, then the whole world is racist and it is President Trump's fault.
