50th Annual Pancake Breakfast and July 4 Parade

Residents, businesses and pets compete for prizes with their costumes, group presentations and hand-drawn floats in the 50th Annual Palo Verde Neighborhood Association July 4 Parade, at 9 a.m., Thursday, July 4, at the corner of Camden Street and Palo Verde Avenue; free. Mayor Jonathon Rothschild is the grand marshal, and the Tucson Police Department honor guard carries the flag. The celebration begins with a pancake breakfast from 7 to 8:30 a.m.; $3, includes pancakes, sausage, juice, coffee and watermelon. Parade registration starts at 8:30 a.m. This year's event also features story boards about the history of the neighborhood and the parade.
