Julie Delpy writes, directs, produces, edits, composes and even stars in this self-indulgent European Woody Allen-esque film. Delpy plays Marion, a short-tempered French photographer who tries to jump-start a dying relationship with her aggravated beau in the City of Lights. Adam Goldberg plays the terminally unhappy American interior-designer boyfriend Jack, who argues about everything from mold to thermometers to small condoms to subways. Marions overbearing parents (played by Delpys actual parents) and Marions constantly appearing ex-boyfriends provide the quarreling couple with even more topics to fight about. Although the film has a realistic look to it, and Delpys vast efforts are commendable, the characters are unlikable, and the bickering is exhausting.
