While Tucson has a bit of a graffiti problem in general, there are some using the University of Arizona as a canvas in more aesthetically pleasing ways, usually using stencils and a single color of spray paint.

  1. i dunno…i think virtually all forms of this kind of activity suck. it’s just not cool to unilaterally mar the public space….although i’m all for murals, sanctioned art, etc. but, graffiti is graffiti is graffiti.

  2. i think the penguin one is good, but i feel what others have tagged around it takes away from the artistic aspect

  3. Agreed, that penguin image is awesome. I’ve actually seen it around town a few times.
