Later this year—once Arizona’s medical-marijuana system is functioning—the Tucson Weekly will need the services of a medical-marijuana critic. This individual will review Southern Arizona’s dispensaries, clinics and other medical-marijuana-related businesses for the Tucson Weekly and TucsonWeekly.com.
Prospective reviewers must have:
• A prescription for medical marijuana, for a legitimate medical condition.
• Some writing experience.
• No serious conflicts of interests. In other words, prospective reviewers should have no direct financial links to medical-marijuana businesses, and no close personal links to an individual or individuals running a medical-marijuana business.
• A driving record with no major convictions, including DUI.
This is an independent-contractor (i.e., freelance) position. We will make an exception to the Tucson Weekly’s no-pseudonym policy and will allow the critic to use a pen name in his/her byline.
Send a resume, cover letter and clips/writing samples to Jimmy Boegle at mailbag@tucsonweekly.com no later than noon on Wednesday, June 1.
This article appears in Apr 28 – May 4, 2011.

Ask your new hire to inquire as to why my Special Immunology Associates physician won’t write a medical marijuana prescription for AIDS patients because El Rio has forbidden it – because El Rio is afraid of negative consequences from the Federal government, which helps fund them.
Will applicants have to pass a drug test? LOL
We would like permission to use your reviews on http://www.420people.com
Are you guys going to have RSS feeds?
This is awesome! This makes up for all that other Left Wing stuff you guys are always harping about. Although I am into the TEA Party, I sure wish the government would get off our backs when it comes to marijuana use.Unfortunately, I do not have a Medical Marijuana Card, so I cannot apply for this position. However, I have found that one does not need a special government issued card to easily procure some Mary Jane. All that is needed is ten or twenty dollars for either a dime bag or a twenty sack!

A medical marijuana user can give you his or her personal comments about the marijuana, but they cannot know how to improve or decrease the potency of the stuff, only growers can. Users may research the effects of marijuana use, but growers study the “root” of the situation if you will!! We study the plant itself. Each strain of pot is different, and you have to experiment with your particular plant to see where its maximum effectiveness and potency potential lie by different length in light times, food amount, distribution, and so many other variables, that you just have to “play” with the plant and it may take a very long time to find that particular plants potential. How can a simple “user” tell you what to do with a plant on taste alone…..I can!
Does “some writing experience” mean paid, professional experience or are you willing to accept a new writer who can show examples of writing when applying?
