While the filmmakers’ claim that this short film didn’t cost them very much rings a little hollow (after all, the computers needed to render these sort of graphics aren’t cheap), it’s still a fun little sci-fi clip that’s cheaper than a ticket to Tron: Legacy.

You’d be surprised with what you can do with off-the-shelf technology these days. My first PC cost me $2000.00, and ran at 4.77MHz (my current PC runs at 3.14GHz — 650 times faster). It didn’t even come with a hard drive. I bought a 10Mb drive later for $300.00. My current drive (not including external drives, flash drives, etc.) is 160Gb — 16,000 times more storage.
No, I did not use a rock and a stick as a keyboard.
