Nothing is going right for the epic PR failure that is the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics. The most noteworthy scene from the opening ceremony was the technical difficulty when the fifth Olympic ring failed to unfold. Let the games begin?

The opening entertainment as a whole was a pretty magnificent spectacle, I thought.
EPIC is not an appropriate word for a minor malfunction. Even the unopened snowflake was symbolic of the athletes themselves …. some perform spectacularly; some have unfortunate problems.
I love the Olympics – it’s practically the only reason to own a television.
