Angel Charity for Children will host its 22nd annual The Big Deal Poker Party on Friday, Sept. 19, at the Tucson Country Club, 2950 N. Camino Principal.
This year’s event features plenty of games, including Texas hold ’em, casino games and interactive karaoke, entertainment, and the chance to win prizes.
Proceeds benefit Angel Charity for Children, which then gives the funding to other nonprofits.
In 2025, Angel Charity will grant $1.75 million to benefit its selected beneficiaries, including Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Arizona and San Miguel High School. The Big Deal Poker Party, now in its 22nd year, serves as Angel Charity’s second major fundraiser of the year in support of this goal.
Angel Charity is granting a combined $1.4 million to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Arizona and San Miguel High School.
They are not the only beneficiaries. Six Opportunity Grants for a collective sum of $327,841, will be given to the following organizations:
Angel Heart Pajama Project, $20,000
Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation (AFFCF), $75,000
Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, $72,000
HopeKids, $15,000
Literacy Connects, $74,957
Spreading Threads Clothing Bank, $70,884
Over the past two decades, this event has become a tradition.
“We’re proud to mark the 22nd year of the Big Deal Poker Party, an event that continues to bring our community together,” said Vicky Curtis, 2025 general chair of Angel Charity for Children.
“The evening isn’t just about raising funds, it’s about creating opportunities and changing lives for the nonprofits we’re funding this year in Pima County. With the support of our generous donors, we’re working toward our fundraising goal in support of this year’s eight incredible beneficiaries.”
A Monte Carlo-inspired evening featuring Texas hold ’em as the main event, The Big Deal Poker Party will feature full casino action, live entertainment, food and cocktails set against the backdrop of Tucson Country Club. To purchase tickets or learn more about the event, visit angelcharity.org.
