Some of yesterday’s storm damage apparently left Tucson Electric Power with less juice than normal, and as a result, TEP’s asking Tucsonans to save power. The alert says people could see “interruptions of service” if we don’t concerve.
Consider yourself alerted.

We’ve shut off the pool filter, stopped ordering pizzas, and stopped making missiles n’ stuff. World’s hangin’ by a thread here, so all you all better take note and pitch in!
You can save a ton on electricity by using low-watt lightbulbs and making sure to shut them off when you’re not in the room. (If you leave a light on to fool would-be burglars, put it on a timer.)
Also keep in mind that fans do very little to cool a room if nobody’s in it. Turn off all fans if you’re not present.
Unplug any appliances you’re not using on an ongoing basis. Anything that’s plugged in eats a small but steady amount of electricity.
