As you may have heard, Sean Collins, better known to all of Tucson as DJ Sean T, his ’80s Retro-Lution Mondays at Club Congress moniker, passed away yesterday afternoon.
Sean suffered a heart attack in late May of this year and was currently on a what he referred to as a “new ticker list.” Sean had mentioned the wait could be as long as two years. Tragically for Tucson, a higher power did not grant him that kind of timetable.
Every week, year after year, Sean selflessly poured his heart out behind the tables to make thousands of friends and complete strangers smile. That’s what we should all remember Sean Collins for, and maybe carry a little of that spirit this weekend when we’re out and about.
We will post details regarding services when Sean’s family has made arrangements. If you have photos or memories of Sean you would like to share, please send them to Jessica Perez at jessicaperez2348@gmail.com

Always sad to lose a special community member. He will be missed.
I knew Sean for 20 years. I would drive down from Phoenix and flew in from out of state just to see and more importantly spend time with him. We were friends and brothers outside of the club. I have brought many people over the years to see and experience what he would bring, which is happiness and joy. Once you were a friend, you were family to him. I love and will miss him dearly…
Sean always played my Morrissey requests at Club Congress on Monday nights. Because of that, some of the most precious memories were created for me and my friends. Member forgotten Sean. Sleep well.
Sean T and I worked at Circuit, I got him his first light man job at the Cat house – He progressed rapidly on the turn tables and found his calling at club congress – We all miss him!
Sean T and Doc Holiday
I too worked with Sean at Circuit City many many years ago… He seemed humble and kind. We weren’t close, and I don’t even know what made me think of him this morning, but I sincerely disheartened to see this article when I googled him this morning.
